Subject: Conform To Button Help

Hello Friends, I just received my Poser 5, installed it, and away I go. As I am reading and doing what the book (Reference Manual) says on page 68 (adding clothing), I opened the library, I selected the bikini top, and then I hit the apply Library Preset button. It says, the bikini top appears behind the figure, but, it actually appears infront of the figure because I dont see her I only see the top. Then it says to select the Figure>Conform to and select Figure one. Now, this I am assuming is at the bottom of the document window on the left? Well, I do that and when I open the Figure>Conform to the Conform to is not highligted for me to click? I hate to think the book is incorrect and it is only me. Thank you for help with add clothing everyone. Thorrax

Hi Thorrax, You probably replaced the figure with the clothing ... DO NOT ... double click on the library item. DO NOT ... apply library preset. With the figure in the studio ... DO ... select the item of clothing. DO ... click on the "double check" to ADD NEW (not replace) FIGURE. DO ... make sure the item of clothing is selected. DO ... the "Conform to" thingy. DO ... select the original figure. ... and you should be ... Good to go! cheers, dr geep ;=]

Thank you. That is why I am glad this forum is here! But, in the book, it does say to hit the apply Library Preset instead of the Create New Figure button. So maybe thats why I made the mistake. But either way, thank you very much! Thorrax

No problem. I'll bet (almost) everyone using Poser has had that same problem at one time or another, although some won't admit it. Me? ...... Nah! ..... I never did that. cheers, dr geep ;=]

Don't be embarrassed, the manual is wrong in this instance. This happens to everyone :) (Don't listen to the Doc!)

Maybe this will help also, its based on Poser 4 propack, but it works the same in P5. I made this mini tut a while back. It comes in handy once in a while!! Good Luck -SimderZ- xXx

Awww, sorry Doc ;-) But we all know the best way to learn is from mistakes... ...so that means the people in here who know most, must have made the most mistakes, right? Well... I don't know the most by any means, but I reckon I'm a strong contender for "Most Mistakes Award" so maybe that theory doesn't hold up after all, heheh :-p
