Subject: Suggestion to Character Makers

Dodger built both She-Freak and Puck with a very specific approach in mind While both figures have unique body shapes, the head is only altered from the original, base mesh as much as is needed to make it look appropriate on the figure (and thoe who insist Puck's head is too big haven't loaded him up and really *looked*). So, if you're making money making V3 characters, textures, and so on, you should grab a copy of She-Freak (available in DAZ Platinum club, but not a PC exclusive) and show how it works on her. It almost always will. And if you're making money making M3 characters, you should grab a copy of Puck (DAZ premier store, and in the Dodger's Poser Stuff link below this thread) and show how well it works on him. And if you're making V3 Male characters, try it out on the She-Freak with the V3 male morphs applied. Both She-Freak and Puck are designed to try and make the most of the existing morphs for their respective base characters. The attached image shows, for instance, the She-Freak Male. This is simply the She-Freak with the V3 male morphs applied and a Michael 3 texture on her. SO I encourage all character creators to take advantage of the way Dodger has taken advantage of the Unimesh to create base figures that deal well with other morphs, AND to show the characters as applied to both figures. It certainly can't hurt your sales any, and the additional sales this approach might make -- showing diversity of application and versatility -- might very well boost your sales considerably. In other words, while it would be nice to see people make characters specifically for each, you can just go ahead and make V3 and M3 characters. Just go grab a copy of each and show how well your morphs and textures, hair and clothes and props look with 'the other guy'. And run with the little guy -- if you can keep up! :) Thanks!

I agree Audrey I have been trying a lot of my morphs on the she freak and puck. And they work great. I would also like to thank dodger for creating puck he rocks, I have a lot of plans for this guy. (Exclusively) We all know how well I like my monsters and with puck I can have some creepy little guys. I am not saying he wouldnt make a nice teen character, I just lean towards the creepy ones. Thanks just thought I would take time to add my 2 cents.

Cool. Dodger wants to see!

Oh, and out of fairness, DOdger says I should suggest this for Jim Burton's Ingenue Vicky as well.

I'd like to see a pose pack for Puck as well as an expansion pack to smooth out some issues with M3 full body morphs. Since Puck doesn't have a lot of clothes, I've been using second skin materials. The spandex morph look a little odd on him though. Cath posted a tutorial on how to make morphs using Z-Brush so I may play with that.

This is Cath's texture on Puck with M3 head morphs...

Audrey. Shame on you for posting that thread in the Poser forum that directs all clicks automatically to Poser Pros. And the subject like of "a better way to experience this forum" was just unprofessional. If I want to go to Poser Pros I will enter the URL myself. Forcing a browser to redirect by entering code into the subject like isn't cool in my book. I don't get this annoyed very often, but please do not do that again. I will avoid your thread from now on.

Phonixrising, What that have makes with this thread?

PheonixRising ( ) posted Sat, 31 January 2004 at 4:19 AM

I don't appreciate or like coding tricks and gimmicks. I really hope Audrey isn't going to do that with more posts in any of the forums. With this thread nothing. I just happened to get sucked into the other thread after seeing this one. I thought "oh look 'Audrey". I just read her other thread so I will look at this one". Then clicking on the thread forced my browser out of renderosity and everyone elses to redirect to PoserPros without even displaying the thread But since Audrey probably can't see his/her IM anymore, I wanted to share my feeling about it. Perhaps harmless, but coding gimmicks like that creep me out. She may be upset Dodger got banned but it wasn't a nice thing to do.

Dodger got banned?

Oh Anton lighten up! It's a joke. That was a simple re-direct. It was kind of amusing. Now back to this thread. It's a great marketing idea. Puck & She-Freak were very well-made.

As soon as Puck and She Freak were available I had to try them out with my new HERO 2.0 texture packs, and they work wonderfully together. In comic book terms, Puck makes me think of Quicksilver and Spiderman... while She Freak of course conjures images of She Hulk, Maxima and so on. So far this 3rd generation of Mil folk has the greatest potential... thanks to Daz and Dodger. If you want to see the stuff I've done, just drop by the PoserPros.com store. Doug

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Dodger got banned way back in September, just shortly after M3 was released and right before The Freak came out. By way of this association to Mil3 figures, this thread is back in topic B^)
