Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 12:36 pm)
Im sorry this still is not working. I load my figure. I hit new group cause that is the only button avalable to me. , Then i hit add all. it then only adds on piece of the figure. Im un able to select the hole thing. Any way I go on. Creat new prop. and it only creats one piece of the figure. and is no longer grouped to the rest. Im in now way able to Get the other pieces of the figure to get selected or nothing reversed.
Well thx for your help but I Still cant get the figure to Set right after Reversing, exporting saving, and even Creating new cr2 for it. the joints do not bend like they used to they get all deformed. Im just going to start from scratch on this. Good lesson is not to forget to checy the norm direction befor saving your model.
You could also reverse the normals in UVMapper, that may be easier if it's the whole lot that's reversed :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
I know that whenever i export from C4D to obj, the normals get all reversed. So i reverse them prior to exporting now. Also, like ernyoka1 said: you can use UVMapper to reverse them. In the pro version: "Tools" menu, then "Facets", then "invert".(Oh! You must first select the polys.) :-) Also, after reading what you said carefully, it seems that somewhere in the process, that you loose your "grouping" info? What i mean is that, do you already have your clothing figure cut in bodygroups? Example: if you import Vicky's obj in poser, you have one piece. But, in the "Grouping Tool", all the bodypart groups appear. If, when you try that on your cloth's geometry, you get none & there should be. Then maybe, you loose them when you export from your modeller(What are you using, btw?). I hope i'm making sense. Also, you asked the proper settings for exporting out of Poser? Ok! Here's how i do it to get it right: First, hopefully the groups are still intact when i first export from my modeller, then import in poser, open "grouping Tool". Ok, i see all my bodyparts(Groups). If normals need reversing, i do it by creating a new group, then adding the faces that need reverting, click on "Reverse Group Normals". Don't forget to delete that "New Group"(Only that one). Now i click on "Spawn props". I delete the first imported obj. You now have all your bodyparts as seperate props in Poser. Great! Export only those props(Bodyparts) with only this option on: "Include Existing Groups in Polygons Groups". Unclick everything else. Now if you re-import that newly create obj & check it with "Grouping Tool", you'll see all your bodyparts intact! Hope this helps you! Marco
