Subject: How to manage a group of magnets?

I have made a set of magnets for V3. I used a lot of them, but I really like the result now. But its time to apply them to the clothes...To apply them one by one, everyone to different zones such as abdomen, chest etc is a long tedious work, plus I want to apply them to several clothes!!How can I apply all them toguether at a time to a figure?

Its possible to have a magnet influence more than one body part. Select the magnet then go to ObjectProperties, you'll see the option there. It is also possible to save magnet sets by clicking on the "Select Subset" button in the save prop to library dialog window.

It would be very difficult to explain the process in any great detail without knowing how much you know about CR2 editing. If you were to buy a magnet set like Wyrmmaster's or mine you could study what is going on in the cr2 and apply that to your set. -WTB

Oh yeeees!It...work!!Lets see what i did, i just selected a magnet wich I named "key", and then in the select subset option I attached all the others magnets to the "key". Then I loaded the standard V3 and applied the "key"..and voila! All the magnets was there. Then i applied "key" to the clothes and it worked again! Many many thanks PhilC :D

If I'm reading you right, you now have two sets of magnets. You can accomplish the same with just one set. -WTB

Yeah William i know thank you, but my main purpose is to get morphs from these magnets, so I dont care if i have 2 sets, they will be deleted once the figures get morphed (well I will keep a copy of them, like a kind of backup)

William, are you saying that you can apply one magnet to a figure and the clothes conformed to it, WHITOUT using "Add Element to Deforme" from the interface? If so How???

        deformTarget lThigh:3

The above does not seem to work for me, either in the Mag, or applied as a pose. It seems that Poser 4 will only accept one instance of an actor name, the others are stripped out. Renaming the actors in the clothes should allow them to be added as targets, but would not renaming the actors break the conforming? I can't see how you can do this, but apparantly you can. Give us a hint please.

Les bangs his head against the wall several times! Ahhhhh...that's better, brain starting to function slightly! I was trying to get the magnets to affect the conformer whilst the base figure was still slected, doh! Of course I need to select the conformer, then apply the pz2. Thanks William!

Just to make it clear to anyone else reading this thread. If for example you attach a magnet with the name "Mag 1" to a characters hip, you can then select a clothing item and apply the following pz2: { magnetDeformerProp Mag 1 { deformTarget hip } } This will add the hip OF THE SELECTED FIGURE as a deformTarget. The second figure does not need to be conformed, and the deformTarget does not need to be the same as in the first figure.

If you use the original magnet file (you know, when you saved your magnets set to the prop folder) as a guide to making the clothing fit file you won't get any naming conventions wrong. I simply open up the magnet file (pp2), resave it as a pz2 and edit out the stuff that isn't needed.
