Subject: Newbie is a Spiral Junkie

I am new to fractal art,and have become a spiral junkie! Not that I've successfully created anything I'd be willing to post, but I find myself zooming and zooming, in on images to find the ultimate spiral....then blowing the whole thing with the click of the mouse. What fun! So far I think I have downloaded and tried most of the freeware programs, and I'm still plating with them all. I found a tutorial on spirals for Ultra Fractal, but haven't make the jump to purchasing the software. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I think this forum is the most helpful and friendly one I've found.

Yes, fractals are fun. Go ahead and post, we would love to see your work. It will be fun to go back and see you work after you've gotten more proficient at it. Welcome to the intoxicating world of fractals

O.k., but you all have to be gentle. I have a lot of learning to do. This type forum is new to me. Do I post them in this thread, or in the gallery........either way I need to see how it's done. Thanks for the warm welcome!

I may be have a Duh moment here. I put an image in the Gallery but it doesn't show on the What's New page. My name is there, etc. but no image. When I click on it it brings up my work. What did I do wrong?

Cyble13 ( ) posted Thu, 05 February 2004 at 9:35 AM

You need a thumbnail of your image. You upload it at the same time as your large image. The thumbnail should be less than 15 kb in file size and up to 200 pixels widex200 pixels in height.

Hi! I'm new to the Fractal stuff and I have to admit something.....I'M ADDICTED!!!! Lol! I hope you post some of your images! Jinx

QuietRiot ( ) posted Fri, 06 February 2004 at 6:31 AM

Thanks! I think I spend about as much time looking through the Gallery as I do trying to make "perfect" images. I find myself plowing through any tutorial I can find to help take out the random quality of simple point and click, and adapting it to FE, which has become my favorite freeware program.

Meet the Most addicted spiral junkie in the Universe...Me! As much as i try to find other images and shapes, something always draws me back to spirals. In fact, it's worse than an addiction for me and many times i hesitate posting yet another one to R'Osity for fear of being stoned, flogged or drawn and quartered! :-)
