it is very pretty!! thank you for sharing :D

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 19 February 2004 at 9:33 AM

It's lovely. But what I really want is the pearlescent finish on the glass. I've been trying for that in P5 and haven't gotten it to work. Thank you Catherina!

Mec4D ( ) posted Thu, 19 February 2004 at 12:14 PM

Thanks :)) did you try out the right rendering settings? draw mode is not so good for the final touch.. the model have all the same materials but you need use also the ground for that.. it is well very funny, if I render the glass without ground, it reflect the flowers but when I put the glass on the ground it reflect then only the ground and a little the edges, nice effect as well but you need use here also only gray light.. I use 3 light set.. 2 spots and one global without shadows.. The velvet is one of the amazing shader node in poser5, I use this also for glass, this create soft look of the model and the hard dark edges are gone.. no matter skin fur or glass. Amazing for dark surfaces, as black for example, you can render your models on all backgrounds you wish without to worry they will not visible.. there is little trick also on the final first image with the color (stars) this is a PS plug-in filter by Andromeda called Scatterlight that add the nice colors around the highlight of the glass.. I add only the colors the rest was original poser 5 rendering. Cath

I love this object, it's beautiful, but I'm a bit confused on how to extract the files needed to add it to my libraries. I've downloaded both versions and they both ask for an .obj object and a .bmp when loading. How do I get those to load the .pz3? And then there is the morphs, how do I save those and use them on the bowl?

Mec4D ( ) posted Sat, 21 February 2004 at 1:20 AM

is that with the first one or the magic shape? with the magic shape open the pz3 scene with Poser then safe the bowl in your figure folder not prop, the bowl is a figure// when you have open it click on the figure and you will see the morph and dials, use the dials to get right form you wish. so one time again.. the first object above is a prop, and the magic shape is a figure with morphs included.. save props to props folder and figure to figures folder of your choice.. let me know if that works..

i think it looks sweet :) well the shape itself (reminds me of the ceramic vases me mum have)

melanie ( ) posted Sat, 21 February 2004 at 10:39 AM

Cath, that's great! Thank you for considering us P4 users, too. Melanie

Shadow_Fyre ( ) posted Sat, 21 February 2004 at 12:20 PM

cath, thanks for the reply, here is what I did. I opened magic-shape-p5.pz3 and it asks for Magic Clay.obj which I don't have so I cancel that and then it asks for a magic_sphere.bmp which also I don't have. It finishes loading, a grey background loads with a Figure 2 and all the morphs. The trouble is I don't see and can't click on any object. I saved that to my figures, but there is nothing there, just the morph dials. BTW, I am using P5. I can load the puchar-p5-materials.pz3 and the object does appear and I can save it to my props and materials. Very nice material too!

Mec4D ( ) posted Sat, 21 February 2004 at 3:06 PM

That is strange... and what is with the other members that downloaded?? have anybody this problem too? if well I will include the obj again..

cath, I see no one has either had the problem or just not responded, but I for one would like to have the 2 files it is asking for if it's not too much trouble. Thank You
