Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 10:18 pm)
Hrrrmmmm.. I don't have that problem... when I tell it to stop looking for missing.. it stops.. though takes a little bit longer to load... When I exit it asks if I wish to save.. etc... You might have a corrupt Poser.rsr file... If you've already backed this up.. you might want to copy it over the existing one in the Poser directory.. if not.... Ouch... you may have to re-install Poser.. THEN copy the Poser.rsr somewhere else.. Not sure why Poser does this... but there ye go... good luck
I don't know about win2k, but win98 with the latest Service Pack fises that! And i have no Porbs with WinNT. It could be the "Poser.rsr" as Wizzard suggested! I know Poser Leaks into other Memory Blocks not allocated to it by Win98! But, WinNT checks for this! Which is why, i don't get as many errors! Marc

I've discovered this since I updated to the latest version of P4: When I install files that I download (freestuff, bbay, etc.), I often don't install the texture maps. Or if I do, I usually store them someplace else than where the creator has designated. This is mainly because Poser is installed on my F drive, not on my C: drive as is the default. In earlier versions of Poser, when I'd done this and then try to load the character or prop, Poser would look for the texture map and when it didn't find it, it'd tell me that it couldn't find the texture and should it continue to look. I'd click "no" and the figure would load without any texture information. I could then save it to my library, with or without textures. Now, however, that message asking if it should continue doesn't come up. I actually have to open the task manager (W2K) and end the task to stop Poser. I then have to manually go into the cr2 or pp2 file and either remove all instances of the texturemap or bumpmap or make reference to where I've actually put the file. Does anyone else have this problem? It's kind of a hassle, especially when I forget. When I end the task, my pz3 file doesn't save of course. Thanks! JetM
