either edgenet or someone else seems to be deleting messages that are letting us know they've locked jack and ed out of the site and are planning to take this community over and totally fuck it up. Look for jack and ed's message on the new board of renderotica

Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.

Must be EdgeNet.

nandus ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2000 at 5:12 PM

I posted a reply to that message at poser forum and they were both deleted. See also "Comments welcome" at poser forum. Nothing good stays the same in this world for too long. Money is all :-(

Thinks if edgenet acts like fascists, they aren't going to get a good graphics site, they'rte going to get a lot of unhappy members and a lost of the best artists leaving

Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.

Yeap, we all saw this happen before. I hope that Zygote and Curious Labs keep their support to Jack and Ed, otherwise we'll be homeless. It will be very difficult for them to start a new site without financial backup. Now all depends on the amount of support they get from members here.

ROFL, censorship at it's finest. Looks like Edgenet can't accept the heat from it's own proverbial kitchen. It's sad when a company has to "cover up" it's mistakes by deleting messages rather than fixing them. Hey, Edgenet! Get out the bricks and mortar and fix the dam! If you just sit around with your finger stuck in the leak, it's sure to burst and drown you! And JACK AND ED! Start a special account at Paypal.com so we can send you some donations! I want to help any way I can!

While I agree that Jack and Ed are getting a shitty deal , I also know that Edgenet has been very generous to this community as a whole and has provided software and bandwidth for a long time and relativly cheaply. Everyone really should get all the facts before a witch hunt is started, let Edgenet speak their piece. We are supposted to be a community and Edgenet is part of that community as well. Everyone should chill till all the sides have been heard and the facts in front of us. Chris

Keoto, I like the idea since I have a lot of pics there but, for that to work, the name has to change and the adult content completely isolated. Remember all the complaints that forced Jack to segregate the adult gallery to the new site? In a moment like this it would be a bad move for Jack, a lot of people has prejudice against R'otica and would prefer to stay here. Renderotica, as it is, may work only as an emergency bypass, until a complete rework is done.

Ok... my 2 cents worth. I have never had any personal probs with Ed and/or Jack. Certainly Jack and I (and many others) had some heated debates long ago over the way people were behaving in regards to PFO (I had the same debates with PFO on how they behaved towards Rend) and that seperation. I would highly suggest that people be VERY careful on their comments, as I am seeing some VERY similar ones to what I saw when PFO left Edgenet. I am also very glad to see Ed and Jack admit that Willow and Grey were indeed right regarding Edgenet. Now... THIS would be the perfect time to mend ALL fences between the Rend members and PFO members. TWO powerhouse Poser forums re-united would kick some MAJOR ass, and Edgenet would NOT stand a chance. I am not saying to re-merge the two. What I am saying is for the two to put aside differences and make the ENTIRE Poser community grow WAY beyond what it is now. Anyone that says "We/I can't do that because of blah blah blah" is full of shit, as it takes TWO to rumble, so to speak. I'll always help out and support the MEMBERS of both places. I've said that before, because that is what makes these places tick, not software or politics of Admins/Mods. I'll gladly help Ed and Jack in anyway that I possibly can, on the SAME terms that I said I'd help Willow and Grey- What they do MUST be for the members, not themselves.

warrior, this is NOT just a poser site. I don't want to be treated like a second rate citizen because I choose to use Bryce or 3D Studio Max or whatever. This isn't just a poser community, it's an ARTIST'S community

Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2000 at 9:47 PM

bonestructure, I know it's not just a Poser site. Neither is PFO. But Poser is the MAIN attraction to both places.

Cazcie ( ) posted Sat, 16 September 2000 at 11:42 PM

I disagree. I think this site attracks much much more than just poser. And that my friend is comming from someone who only has poser to use. As far as the debate with Jack and Ed, I think that for short term purposes renderotica should be the obvious place to use as a stepping stone. (unless edgenet has something to do with that as well). I know there are predjudices there because of the adult material, but it would at least be a stepping stone to getting on with the community. Just my two cents

hi everyone. at this time, EdgeNet; Tim as made a decision to remove jack and i's admin status. R'otica is seperate and it's own identity. and will remain as so. we thank warrior, grey, willow and the people of PFO during this time. and i agree, it IS a time to finally come together AS a whole community of artists that use a variety of art programs and software. We do wish that everyone get the full story from all sides and make their own decisions as what they wish to do, personally. jack and i will be preparing a new home should any wish to visit and continue what we have created here through the dedication and wonderful participation of EVERYONE. take care everyone. please be calm through a trying time and let's stay cool and calm and work through it all and move on. also, there are alot of people on poser list discussing things, so that may be one of many portals you can all get info at to make your decisions in the long run. http://www.egroups.com/poser/ and also, bless everyone of you who have sent email regarding this current situation. you guys effin' ROCK!! ed

My 1 cent. The old poser memebers of this community like me really knew that this will happen sooner or latter, so this time it doesn't surprised me. Now I bet Edgenet is looking for some good pigeons to run the site for one more year.

SAL9000 - Hello Dr. Chandra, Will I've dream?

bonestructure ( ) posted Sun, 17 September 2000 at 2:26 AM

I still feel like everyone but the Poser people are being left out. I'd offer my support, but since I doubt I have much more than a few more weeks left on line, there's not a lot I can do. Jack and ed however, have my permission to take any of my graphics they feel are worthwhile and add them to the new site
