I wanted to share this with my Bryce family...About 15 mins ago, a long time pet companion(10yrs) quietly passed away in my arms. His name is RB, I rescued him from the pound after they retreived him from a pack of dogs, his owner no longer cared what happened to him, but when I saw him I knew he would be a part of our family, his plucky personality endeared him to us instantly. This year he fell prey to a disease that came and went, but finally in the end claimed his life. I will miss him sorely...:(

I had a little dark brown and white bunny named Thumper who lived to be about 13. He was a great pet. I'm sorry about the loss of your bunny rabbit.

Isn't it strange (and reassuring) that no matter where in the world people are from, they love, care about and grieve for animals? He looks so cute and funny!

Sambucus ( ) posted Sun, 29 February 2004 at 2:39 AM

Condolences, Zhaan. People who have never had a pet may wonder at your feelings for a rabbit but the rest of us know just how you feel. He looks a cute little guy.

Pets really do become part of the family, unfortunately because their life span is so much shorter on the average of peoples we tend to loose them so quickly. They bring a lifetime of joyous memories to which we can only say thank you to our furry little friends and hope that we had made their exsistence in this world as pleasent as they have made ours. My most heartfelt condolences to you and your family for your loss. Sargon

So sorry to hear about your loss Zhann... Our pets truely become one of the family members in our lives and are true friends with unconditional love for us. It is very hard to lose one when you think about all the love and friendship you received from them while they were with us. It is nice to know that you had given this little bunny a happy home to live a happy life in for the remainder of his years. God bless you through your time of sorrow Zhann, Wade

It's hard to express the emotions when trying to just say "I'm sorry." I know how it feels, and that it's really no good to say it'll pass even tho eventually it does. Just remember how happy he had to have been knowing he was safe with you and that you cared.

I'm truly sorry Zhann. I know how you must feel.

The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the Group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

My husband handed me a piece of paper this morning on his way out the door for work, and on it was written this; Don't stand by my grave and weep For I'm not there, I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glint on snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight I am the stars that shine at night Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die... Thank you all for your thoughts, I've raised alot of animals, they are always part of the family, and through the years you think it will get easier, but it never does...to lose ones heart to a pet that's passed on...

Zhann, Really sorry to hear about RB. Unfortunately, most pets lifespans are so short that this day inevitably comes for every pet owner. Every time someone says something like this I remember back to Fang a black persian cat who befriended my family when I was growing up and died while clutching my hand with his paw. I know how sad you must feel right now. - TJ
