Well.. the floor is there... but for all I have tried.. he still looks like he's kind of floating a little.. maybe I'll add some texture to it.. the environment it's supposed to be black... (So I can have it on my desktop) but if it helps, it's supposed to be like in a dressing room of an arena or the sort... forgot the right name if it's not that... Thanks.
Hmmm ... it does appear as though he's floating a bit, and it may be because he is not actually touching the floor. But another part of the problem could be the shadow setting ... it appears a tad too softened and not as stark as it should be given that light. Another thing that you might want to consider is doing some postwork, to highlight the outer edges of the character more. To do this, render the image to a TIF file, so that it has an alpha channel. Then take it into Photoshop (or another image editing program that has layers). You should be able to select ONLY the figure's alpha channel, given that he is the only object in the scene. Copy the figure to a second layer, and then use a Dodge (or Lighten) brush to make the "backlighting" more drastic. For a good example of what I mean here, check out "Through The Rain..." in ToxicAngel's gallery. The bright glow on the left side of her body was probably done with this technique, and it adds a lot of drama to the pic.
Thanks for the advice and keep it coming..
Rick

The final is up.. now I like it.. Thanks to Deecey and A_ and Marque. The final is on the link. Hope it works.. Thanks Rickwell.. it was unintentional... even tough I love cats (have 3) neve tough about "hiding" something in the picture... Maybe that's why the "Eye of the Tiger" was related to boxing (I THINK.. I do not remember why the song became famous.. but I think ROCKY).. anyhow.. interesting point.. :) Well.. no I do not have anything to do (wanted to complain since I finished), so suggestions for the next one will be greatly appreciated... Thanks again Rick
I like it. That rim lighting was definately the trick....I'll try to remember this thread to point to as example next time someone asks about that lighting technique. Good image there -- strong and basic. My only quibble is the parquet floor; seems a little twee for the rest of the pic. All that muscle and stark lighting, he should be standing on cracked concrete or rusty steel or something. My twenty yen, anyhow.
Well.. the wooden floor was cause I wanted a WoodenFloor since the white one (that was how I dreamt the image) did not work at all in the end... Concrete... Steel... good ideas... I'll try in and do more posting on that... since if I'm going to wait to dream another image.. it's going to take a loong time... My last one was posted so long ago that I did not appeared in the gallery anymore (I presume maintenance or stuff like that). But glad lot's of people liked it..
