while working on some other poser-files I've found this one - it's some old kit/set for a church for poser, 8 single parts. I found some problems with the textures (tiled) and I hope I can fix them but my question is: Is it better to make props using external zip-files to save memory? Sould I convert them to CR2's? I've optimized the mesh of each prop but they are still about 4.6 up to 9.2 MB's (unzipped)...

This looks excellent. Unless you have working parts, a CR2 isn't necessary. They'd be better off as props (PP2). An external OBJ call is a good idea, since it means that the model can be used by anyone who can import OBJ - Bryce, Vue etc. I'm not sure that it saves memory. A big item like this is inevitably going to take up a lot of storage.

Try to find some kind of mesh optimizer. I don't know of any good free ones, the best pay for one is Vizup (www.visup.com). Some 3d programs can optimize the mesh, and sometimes doing things like untriangulate also reduces mesh size a bit.

Not what you asked for but if I may... the roof doesn't look right where it meets the walls. I have never seen a roof that runs directly into a wall. There is always some kind of buffer zone from flashing or overhang especially with ceramic tiling. Otherwise, it's a fantastic structure! Keep up the great work!
