You could check out Zazzle.com They do all sizes of prints and posters..from wallet, portfolio, to collosal {6 ft. tall} ;) Make your own designs, and they do the rest.. Not sure if that is what you're looking for...? ~Jani

Where you up load your stuff, they take 90% and give you 10%? Or can you order prints singly for resonable prices?

Varian ( ) posted Wed, 03 March 2004 at 3:22 AM

You can order prints, posters, t-shirts, other stuff. You don't need to join their gallery corral to use their printing services.

Look for a local printer that can do the job for you. There should be plenty that charge reasonable rates. bonni

You also should make sure your pictures will print up ok. I know if you mix Paint with 3d art, it sometimes prints up awful. Just print it yourself and if it looks good, then you'll know a Printer can do it. When I use to do regular art I had prints made. It wasn't cheap, but I made a profit. Unlike when I did cards, I broke even on those.

You can upload your stuff to your own 'private' gallery, for your use only..not to sell your images. Then order prints for whatever purpose ;) And if you 'did' happen to want one or more of your images to sell, they dont take 90%...its closer to 40% I believe. {don't quote me on that one tho ;) }

Attached Link: http://www.cafepress.com

I've never tried it but CafePress also does posters (23 x 35 inch centered) and miniposters (11" x 17"). I know there are people on this site who have used them...maybe they could share their experiences. They have a base price and then you can charge what you like above their base price.

Thanks guys Im just looking for that diamond in the rift for printing place. Il check out Zazzle.com though....anymore advice, resourses? I think it would be cool to put up like a webpage on renderosity that referes to stuff like this. Sence they cant make it profitable to do prints....mabey leaking some infor re: the subject matter. Get a bunch of idea form the members base and publish it here...hell even make it an article for the Mag.??

They used to sell prints on Renderosity but I don't think they sold very well. The thing is, you would be selling art prints to artists here....what you want to do is sell art prints to a wider audience, I think. In the upcoming Renderosity Interactive Magazine, I happen to know a book on marketing art is being reviewed (Hisminky has written an ebook and a sequel on markets which is available in the Marketplace, and webpage might be worth checking out for ideas). You should contact the magazine if you have an idea for an article....email your ideas to mag@renderosity.com and they will get back to you.

I know where I live Kinko's Printing the the leading printer of prints from very small to large jobs or just for one print. They carry all kinds of paper and canvas for prints and are very, very cheap. You can also take your own CD or disk in and they can set you up to print the size you want and you can do it yourself. The prints come out great. I have used them and so has several of my friends. Look in the yellow pages in your city and see if you have a Kinko's Printing Company near you. There are a great many local photo shops these days that are switching to digital printing. Some use the Epson 9600, others use the Encad products. It would be worth your time to call around and find a hole in the wall shop and see what the owner has to say about your printing needs. My sister and I found a good local shop that got a great deal of personalized attention for a reasonable price. And if you activate the archives button and scroll down you'll see several folks here who either have their own printing or are willing to comment on sevices they have used. If you have a lot to print, you might want to look into getting a smaller wide format printer. I'm very happy so far with the Epson 2200 for most things. Its terrible on lightning shots, but everything else seems to be ok.

Hi, I have found the cheapest place in my area for one off prints up to 8 x 11" is the local Wal-Mart. If you upload the file to the website you can order prints in a few sizes up to 8 x 11 and pick them up at the local store. These are dye sublimation prints. I am testing a few pictures at 4 x 6" (postcard size) with an image resolution of 640 x 480. There are a few sites via the web but postage and handling are high for small volumes. Local printers will NOT touch a job under 1000 copies. regards [ and I hate to recommend Wal-Mart]

Let us know how the quality is when you get your prints back - and the price :) Dee-Marie

I was impressed by the quality of the wal-mart prints. The 4 x 6 at my local store run 38cents each. Upload to the website and get store delivery and it's 28 cents a copy. For some reason 5 x 7 are just under one dollar. If you want 8 x 10s shop elsewhere. 640 x 480 resolution is lower than recommended and chopped the top and bottom of the image. This was the local store employee not knowing what to do to fix a resolution error. There are many sites on the web that offer lower pricing, but I usually only want a couple of prints so shipping becomes an issue. I will say that printing the pictures showed up every little defect that was not apparent on the screen. I still have not bought a color printer, because if I had one I would be printing everything. Having to go out to get prints is keeping my spending way way down.
