hi... Im thingking about make Vics or Mikes finger movement like as guitar player. Right hand picking , power or broken chord movement and even bending I know maybe those works can make me sitting in front monitor till 2 month or more ( keyframing fingers pose one by one ) I learn 3d maxs Reactor for a while , very usefull plugins i think , because u can make every parameters object react to other object ( ex Xposition object A could drive rotation ,scale , position until material object B) Thats help when you want building complex animation , but 3d maxs biped and bone system give me another headache , and i decide to back in poser again . In my case (or my dream & maybe wish..?) , fingers movement & timing so very complex , i learn by watching video of my guitar hero , Satriani & Vai , especially in right hand area Every mili second their thumb & index finger doing circle movement and three other react but not always synchronize . Those movement not easy job when i try in poser Maybe , you ll saying "EAT YOUR JOB" , or "SPEND UR TIME WITH POSING" , thats ok , i agree but with many genius & talent people in here , plz let me know how to doing this more easy before im date for along time with my monitor thankz.. jibriel

Good luck. The Poser model hands are not the easiest thing in the world to pose. We could probably do with someone producing Hi res hands.

I've been working on using MIDI files to control Poser movements. Look at the animations here to see piano keys and singers driven by MIDI: ockhamsbungalow.com/Movies ------------- Tomorrow I'll be posting a longer animation featuring an alto recorder. So, if you can develop the "static" fret poses, it is possible to animate them from MIDI. This will take care of the keyframing.

hmm..I'm not much help, I play backwards and upside down (left-handed, and never knew I was doing it 'wrong' until someone pointed it out..;), Bar chords usually have the index finger held down over most of the frets down-neck of the chord. I guess it depends on style. The remaining fingers do the chords. A G chord looks like 'the finger'..;) D's and A's are the same fingers as normal, just farther up. Hammer-on's (the Van Halen stuff) you shouldn't have to worry about.
Pick hand is usually the first 3 fingers (all right, thumb, and first 2 fingers..;), angle of attack, and technique vary by artist. hope this helps.

Joe and Steve are particularly hard ones to animate. They are string players and don't play a lot of chords.

Most artists choose a few chords and don't stray too far from them in their songs. So they are easier to create.

Every time I need a hand pose for guitar I always have to spend time faffing around. I don't think it would be possible to produce a useful set of hand poses because of the neck scale differences on the guitars available for Poser. A hand pose for HMann's Strat would probably have the fingers poking through the fretboard of Mask da's Les Paul, for example.

Thanks alot for advice , Ockham .. which file ? Should i check every files? Im interest with your midi control the movement idea could you explain how to do that? thankz

sorry AntoniaTiger, I've already got 4..;)
Two chords that might help would be Em or A, they're just a finger held across 2 or 3 strings (I'd have to explain which strings, but I don't know if it's that important).
