Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 07 11:07 am)
bummer..it appears you can't go larger than 100...I still have lists in a couple of folders... I want thumbnails so I can see what the stuff is... guess its time to split runtimes or something

Dave-so: you should be able to make it over 100...i dont know if this is what is happening or not but make sure your not in poser when you make the change. some of the xml files get rewritten by poser while your in poser.

something i found particularly helpful is making larger thumbnails. apparently in p5 you can make them as high as you like. i went in and set my document window size to 91 by whatever and put the characters in, posed them, rendered them and saved as png. I redid the pngs for many of my people/characters and mats so that i could see what i was looking at. I have some as large as 91x250

Tyger-Purr, that works in Pro Pack too :o) Yeah it's a great way of getting legible thumbnails, some of my prop packs has thumbnails sized 91x182 (to keep the ratio) But have you noticed the drop shadow can't quite cope with it? G

Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
yeah..I went from 100 to 200 but it still did not work :) now I went to 500.... and, viola...it works... so, if you have a lot of stuff , you may need a much higher number in there to get your thumbs back. I thought it was just 100 per folder, but it must be the total number of thumbnails within the runtime.

Dave-So, I had same problem. My hunch is that it's just doing a total file count for the folder to do the check, so the limit number you need is x2 (.cr2/.pp2/.etc + .png) or x3 if you have .rsr's about too. But I could see no reason for a low number (nor could I see any reason for any limit in the first place ;-) so I just added a 0 on the end: 100 => 1000 :-O
You are more than welcome. Isn't it a real relief to see the thumbnails again. I think the SR4 should have come with more of an explanation or warning. I as usual skim read it and most either didnt apply to me or went over my head. Perhaps they should have entered that text in BOLD. Oh well at least we can see again. Happy Rendering. Jim

Thought I would post a tip before asking a question. If you are having trouble seeing thumbnails in P5 it may be because there are more than 100 thumbnails in that folder. What you will see is a list of the files. This is actually a feature of Sr4 but you may have forgot about it, as I did. You can easily change the default number see below. This happened to me when I purchased a package of 50 poses each for V3, M3, and SP3. It may also happen if you have combined some pose files. Hope this will save someone some angst. Here is the note I got from the Curios Labs. Support Team
Hello James,
It's a feature!
