BTW, the little hand and +/- icons work in the director's view too, but be careful because if you pan too much (using the hand tool), and then use the camera forward/backward tool, it might not quite go in the direction you expect!!! once you gets past the initial "What the $$&*% is this?" reaction with the interface, hopefully you'll find that it's much more intuitive than other 3D packages! ...but you're right, the manual definitely sucks. One of my favorite pet peeves is that it's in black-and-white, yet in the Materials section all the little illustrations are referred to as if they're in color!
ok... I've been working on this awhile and can't seem to find the + or - or the hand tool when I'm in top down manual... Someone please explain this to me like I'm three (because I got three hours sleep and Bryce has locked up on me three times today--it doesn't like my polygon count--I think) TIA. Pat
thanx to all who helped... I figured it out finally This will help immensely. I'm trying to find out how many Poser4 figures it takes to make my Bryce4 explode on my PII with 128 mg... (Not really, but I've got 5 Poser figures in a render so far and Bryce is beginning to object) Now, If I could just find out what I'm doing wrong with one of my transmaps (see other question on the forum) I'd be all set... Is there a way to switch the area viewed in the top down view? I want to be able to focus on an area that is off screen to line items up. I'm still pretty new at this whole Bryce thing and this is really frustrating me. TIA. Pat
