Subject: Can anyone confirm the Silverlief PC item issue?

elgyfu ( ) posted Sat, 17 April 2004 at 8:38 AM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 4:27 AM

Sorry to be a pest. I have just been over at Daz forums where there is a lot of talk about Silverlief's lvoely items being removed from the Plat Club in the near future. I have brought some of the items but can not afford everything I want at once. I was planning on buying more of it. There is a cryptic comment that it is being decided on Monday. Can anyone confirm if the Silverlief stuff is about to go Premium or not. I feel a little upset about this as I only just read the forum messages and so did not know it was going to happen - they could have emailed me! So much for PC items staying forever.

Last I knew, they will either stay in PC, or go to Poser Pro's ProClub for $2.50 each.

From what I understand is that DAZ & SS are still in negotiations. I'm sure when they work things out they'll post what changes there will be. Not much one can do but wait until then.

It was my understanding that all of the SS products were going to the Premire Store (being removed from PC)but there was a grace period to allow people to get them at the PC price before the move.

Thanks, as I only discovered any of this earlier this morning - how long is the grace period? There are quite a few V3 and V2 things I would love but can not afford to buy them all at once. I am a Daz fan but sometimes communication could be better!

the original grace period was 2 weeks...and the "Monday" that was mentioned, was this past Monday so it's well past that time...

There was a new post in the PC forum saying that they're still negotiating. So i expect her stuff will stay put until they finish.

In a post in the DAZ PC forum there is mention of a planned announcement early next week. So waiting is the only thing that can be done.

Sort of reminds me of the old "Digital Divas" sparring matches. Yep, I've been around that long, and many of the original artists left the folds of the art communities for various reasons. Generally the issues of the groups needing certain performance from it's members by creation of product or news articles by deadline dates, led many away and resulted in hurt feelings on both sides of the so-called fence. The communities overall never seemed to be able to understand the importance of personal issues over participation/non-participation. I take no stance or opinion on either side of this, but have known many of the personalities involved for a long time and know that it will not be an easy decision in whatever happens by DAZ's management and involved brokers.

Dan Farr wrote in the members forum that they will be in talks over the weekend and will respond at the beginning of next week. He also said that SS's items may stay in the PC, so I just hope they can come to an amicable agreement. Catlin

Wow, Digital Divas, that is an old reference, careful not to date yourself there :) I "Dmentia" was involved when they origionally formed, but drifted away as they became more focused on the digital aspect than the art aspect...I'd like to beleive there were no hard feelings about that, they were a great group of gals as I recall...It was one of the founding Diva's that set me straight regarding copyrights and permission and what not, wonder if she's still around...Perhaps I left before the issues you're referring to, the only issues I remember vividlly were more language barrier based and a couple for lack of support when a member got attacked by some one stealing her idenity(sp?)...Was a long time ago...I remember more good than bad from those ladies... As for the topic, DAZ and myself are working toward a solution to keep the products in PC. We decided not to go into much detail to keep another "Weekend Blowout" from happening...We posted as Caly pointed out because we didnt want any one wondering if we were intentionally keeping them in the dark...

Thank you Dmentia, for choosing to talk with Dan in hopes of keeping your stuff in the PC. I am very much a fan of your work. Diana
