What to do when someone else is pretending that he made an object, while it is originally made by someone else? :)

usually, you would download both items and do a visual and vertex comparison. if you find that they are indeed the same you post the result to the correct forum. then, you can contact the moderators and ask to have the item removed from the freestuff. If you're not sure about the comparison you could pass the info along to another person and ask them to do the same. in most cases this results in one person slinking off into a corner or if they are real people at least an apology...

hey if its about those damn cars I posted I clearly stated in evry frickin' doco and post that I did NOT make them.

i'll show you what it's all about. http://www.gwz.org/propsguild/files/Plants/page4.htm on this page you find the POTTED PLANT. and when you go to this page you will find this: http://www.3dcafe.com/models/cannabis.zip the canabis file is from 17/04/1996 the potted plant is from 04/02/2000 i did check the files ALL the leaves are the same and ALL on the same place as the ORIGINAL file...... :) the guy did ONLY made the POT and saved it in .3DS instead of the original .PRJ file.
