Subject: Joining Objects in Poser

Does anyone know how to join (group) two or more objects togather? For example: joining squares to make a rectangle?

Geep must have a tutorial on this. If not, just arrange all the objects, then export as wavefront.obj file.

Hi. It works great. Thanks. But now I'm curious. How do you get to add a different material to each square? I saw it somewhere but I don't know how to do it. For instance a house is made up of different objects but you can add one color for the roof, another for the walls and doors and windows.

Add the materials before you export. Then re-import. Materials should stay attached.

Gee... I wanted to be able to add AFTER you import - I guess it can't be done. It would be nice though. Unless you can change material afterwards.

I know you can change material globally, but I don't know how you can change them individually per object.

You can use the grouping tool to assign materials. Open it and select the polygons you want, then click on the 'Assign new material' button. (Very vague instructions because I haven't used this tool for several years) Also, check Geep's tutes for 'grouping tool' mac

PS It's a lot easier to do this in uv mapper. If you have the free one, select the parts you want, then go to Menu> Tools> Assign> Material and give the material a name. Resave the obj and imprt it to poser. mac

I did it. I did it. I did it. I assigned each square a material using the group tool. Thanks.
