PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE don't stop!!! I love them! We have a few timber framed houses dotted around the village where I live and there's loads in the nearby town. I adore them!!!! Some would benefit from having a thatched roof :-) There's a thatcher lives here too - shall I send him to you ?? :-) Gill

Der Jimi, In fact I wish you'd post more. Your modeling is only getting better, and your love of old architecture shows through in your work. I remember having a conversation with you a ways back on the subject including flying buttresses and the like - of which I still think you could work wonders with. As to the sad and dark times, I can only accept that there is a reason for them and hope that you can get some fun out of life; that you will continue to find some relief in your art. - TJ
Keep it up! Jimi! Perhaps you can give us a tut on 'Sketchup - Bryce'?

These are great. I am going to stop trying to make half timbered houses, yours are so much better than mine. I empathise with your sorrow, as I too am going through a real bad time, but in my case it seems to have curtailed my creativety. Will be really interested to see what you come up with regarding thatched roofs. I just can't get bryce primitives to produce anything really good looking, and I can't model for toffee.

Thanks for the TUT! (Scratches head - finds another bald spot)

Things like this can be Modeled in Bryce by useing Primitives or by using Lattices...Do your Greyscale texture in PS or PSP and then bring into the Terrain Editor and then bring in as a photo,Apply then smooth if you need to,Wappen(Online name)is Famous for doing Models in the terrain editor...But I hear Sketchup is one heck of a program adn DerJimi just makes that proggy Rok and Roll...
Thanks for posting the line drawings! I love these buildings.

foleypro, In that regard I think chohole was on the right track . . . As good as you all are I try not to let that get to me; only realize that talent is mostly a learned trait and it is only by continued exercise of our "art muscles" that improvement happens - that or LOL a long series of lucky mistakes. Exellent modeling Der Jimi! - TJ
Der Jimi- I am sorry to know of your dark times and their cause. However I would be lying if I didn't say that I appreciate the work resulting from your inspiration. To bring forth such in response is to show that something good may come from any experience and this is inspiring to me. Thank you. Richard
