Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 5:12 pm)
You understand that the two you mention as liking are different in their usages. The Glances one are straight textures and MATs for the eyes on the Gen3 figures (M3, V3, etc.) And DNA Eyez are eye props that have to be loaded and then MATs applied. I like the prop eyes and have Blackeyes, Awful Souls, Awful Eyes, PoserStyle's and just recently got Xena X-eyes which fit nearly every current popular figure. They all have different qualities and pros and cons - some are better for some scenes (I think because of whatever the lighting is) over others. But with my spread of them, I do ok and I like them all.
Well after looking at Blackeyes I did understand that, but I didn't at first. So if I were to get started on using prop eyes, which do you think would be the best choice for someone who really just wants one reliable set that will produce good quality realistic renders? again thanks for the insights Unzipped

get black eyes and then get search for mindvisions textures i think you will be extremly pleased wit your purchaces if you decide to do your own textures theres a really good tut atUnzipped, I've bought the Blackeyes package here, and they are great other than having to adjust the positioning a bit once I've loaded them, even though I'm using the right eyes for the right figures. Yeah, they are quite realistic, but having done a couple of renders with them, I find that the ones that come with Daz's Glamour make-up set work just fine for me. When I want something close-up, I'll substitute the prop eyes. One thing I do to increase the realism is after I've loaded all the Mats, I pop into the Materials room and add an anistropic specular Node to the cornea. Gives them a nice, natural sparkle. (And if you don't know how to do that, say so, and I'll walk you through it...as others have with me on other things.) Just paying it forward!

I've been looking at these two packages:
Real Eyes Poser 5 Only
http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=28093
V3 Natural Eyes
http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=27188
Anyone know why the first one is Poser 5 only? Does it take advantage of specular nodes or something like that?

I did a search for past posts on this, and didn't really come up with anything very recent or on topic - forgive my laziness for posting this if it's a dupe. I'm looking for a really good set of eye textures for V3/M3,etc. I just want high quality "normal" eyes - no pinwheels, gears and cogs, nuclear explosion alien eye stuff - just nice looking every day eyes. Looking around I've narrowed it down to akahastur's Glances package: http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=24578 which looks very nice or runtimedna's Eyez package: http://www.runtimedna.com/catalog.ez?ShowProduct=EJ%2D001&TopElement=0 I'm leaning towards the Glances package - it just looks better from what I can tell, but I'd appreciate input from anyone who's used one or both of these - did you like them, do they render well, etc? Or if you know of some other product which is similar that you liked, could you say something about it? Thanks in advance, Unzipped
