I have also had problems with importing some objects would not let you resize them no matter what,And I always check to see if it was locked but nope everything looked fine,I thought i did hear that there was a certain bug that was mentioned thru the Betatesting team...Read it on a forum some where....? Something to do with importation on my episode tho....
I'm with foleypro on this one...there seems to be a bug that pops up now and then that locks an object. In my case it wasn't an import though, just a really big bryce tree. I made it HUGE and all of a sudden it wouldn't move, size, rotate or anything. It made sure it wasn't locked too. I never did get it to work.
I've seen this bug. It can happen with just about any object. When it happens, just save the file and reboot. Open Bryce again, open your file, and the object in question should resize OK.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Too tricky to increase the rest of the scene in size? I don't think the photo element will suffer, since you're moving away from it so it will appear to be the same size anyway? Maybe group the entire scene, resize, move back and place your preset? It works in my head, but can't tell how it would work in Bryce or for that point your scene.

I actually already had to shrink the scene to alleviate some of the photo element's suffering... I'm dealing with some free-bie stuff (which I'm immensely greatful for) in the trike series, but it seems to require some reduction in size to keep things dense enough to stand up. And then on the other hand there's Maski's barn, which is about as big as the whole of England! (and stop confusing me with DBP/DBphoto!)

I made something big for ease of construction and created a preset, then created it in my target scene but now I don't seem to be able to shrink it past a certain point.
