One thing that I am noticing, and this is not a fault of yours or anybody's, but I don't think it has been brought up before. Baron's clothing is nice. What really spins my wheels for his stuff is not the super-cheap price, not the quality of craftmanship, but the fact that you can mix and match and always get a certain look. The material zones in all of his stuff carry the same name, so that when you click on a MAT file, it will apply the same effects to it no matter what the item is. Have you considered doing the same? I know, the catsuit would have more/less materials than the wetsuit, but you can call them the same material names for the layout that you consider best. You know what I mean, right? It would make your stuff infinitely more expandable, and a lot easier for you texture makers to provide consistent quality time and again. I think this is something you might consider for future projects. And they don't have to be limited to Doll stuff and Vicky stuff. Have them interchangable. The reason I brought this up is that I just tried changing the materials on the wetsuit you have up now, but with those other MAT files you have in the other stuff. The neck area changes, but that's about it. Wouldn't it be cool to get that cat-like texture with one easy click right into the suit? ^_^

Point of reference, my Anime Study #005 uses Baron's materials on all the clothing. Albeit, it's Lory's BioGoth she's wearing, but that's how it happened to come out. Pretty neat effect. I'm not saying to make it the same material names as Baron uses, although that would be pretty cool, but use similar material names in your stuff. Generalized names, and have specific areas be more specific names. Just an idea...

Nice thing about the tenten/Maya Hybrid is that you can use standard V2 textures, except for the nipples, very odd mapping there. I had to go in and make some changes to the cr2 and obj files, the fingernails and toenails are named wrong in the materials so they don't map properly. Its an easy fix. Grim

Here's a quick character I threw together to represent the swimsuit I materialized in the Material Room with Ajax's (I think) slime material hooked into the Cel Shader routine. A couple of bugs to get out, but it makes some really nice-looking material. Wonder what I have to do to get it to make it look like it's supposed to look like, though... hmmmm...

Anyways, haven't seen any real problems with the wetsuit, even after putting her through some of the more crazy poses I've got in here. Good quality stuff. ^_^

And the same picture, this time with the Poser 4 rendering mode. The trims have returned! LOL... interesting... wonder where they went in the Firefly one?!?

I havn't had the chance to test it yet. Why? Well, last night, i was sick in my bedroom and now my bedroom will stink until mum hires a floor cleaner. During the night i was sick, and got it on my bed, meaning that i had to wait while mum changed the covers. Now this morning, i was sick again because i drank lemonade...and now i have to starve myself for today. And also i'm taking a day off school, which is bad because it was my Math SAT papers today! And i can't take them again...poor me, feel sorry for me! Anyway, i feel a little bit better now, so i think i might just test it.

I like the leaves. That's a really cool effect. ^_^ I think you should offer that as an option for the package.

Well... no explanation for the vanishing trims from one renderer to the other other than the material settings. I guess the Firefly engine displaced the materials so much so that they "covered up" the trims. In the P4 mode, it can't do that. Since the material DOES use displacement, that's all I can conclude that happened between one and the other. Still can't explain the little lines you get, though... probably a result of the material being displaced into the negatives. I dunno... not all that familiar with displacement maps. But what I do know, that's what I'm drawing from... shrug

gee senshitaurus, you sure ought to know HOW to spend a goo birthday time :) sorry you are sick, dude... as for myself i try to whip myself for motivation to get back to poser. had not do a single picture or freebie for more than a month (last update of my website)... btw insomnia: i found that your items had a strange mapping, instead of multiedge polygons they are all but small tiny squares..is this because of rhino ? i ask this because i was starting trying to map a few textures for your products i purchased so far and it is very difficult to make proper/flawless textures (at least for a newbie as i am) with this compared to other stuff i worked on before... especially when i want to correct the seams and makes them smooth...

Breaking it down... each material zone is a different color. You really start to run out of basic colors when there's so many materials! ^_^ Anyways, just wanted to share the stupid little things I do to entertain myself.

SenshiTaurus ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 11:17 AM

I finally did a test! Not much more to say... Another one of my white eyed, shiny haired beuties... Hey, i'm improving in rhino, so if anyone wants a texture/simple prop, i might be able to make one...

Well... I found some. -_- Sorry. I'll provide the links to the actual pictures straight out of Poser.

Riddokun: Rhino makes the mesh, if the mesh seems strange, well thats because its Rhino, lol. I have control over the mesh, but only limited amount. I can can control its density and have various ways to control the amount of detail or complexity, but in the end, I have to be happy with what kind of mesh Rhino will make for me from the original nurbs model. I have less complaints about models that have four sided polygons over those with three sided polys. marty
