AceC ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 6:08 PM

Well, DAZ has an EZ Pose add-on for it in their free archive... Other than that, I haven't seen much for it.

Ajax ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 6:17 PM

Yeah, I have an EasyPose add-on for it in the DAZ free archive. That should make posing it a little easier. If you want to save the poses you make using the EasyPose add-on, try the PoseSave python script I have on my Renderosity Artist Page.

akura_ ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 6:35 PM

did you buy SS Magi MAT poses for it.

Lyrra ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 7:05 PM

There were some textures around for the sparkly bits to turn them into feathers, leaves, hearts, and snowflakes. Durned if I remember who did them though.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 7:13 PM

The snowflake, heart, flower, and feather expansions are by mabfairyqueen.

Lyrra ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 7:39 PM

Well, if I can so humbly point out that many of the textures for the BE Creatives magic set (despite being put together horribly) will work with anton's wonderful magical stuff. And Mab's stuff is incredible -- great effects. :)

akura_ ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 6:55 AM

Can someone make fire, ice, electricity, and earth MAT poses for the Magik Poseable & Conforming FX Figures please. Akura

BronwynC ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 7:14 AM

I would second that one Akura!

cedarwolf ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 7:54 AM

Yes, the four basic elements as well as some explosions and possibly a tutorial on how to make original mats for these would be great. I can see a superhero scene in which the sparkels become, oh, say, throwing stars or knives...any number of things...think about it "raining cats and dogs..." not that I would condone harming a poser animal. (Whups...think I just stepped in a poodle...)

Lyrra ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 2:37 PM

takes notes for new upcoming magic prop How does one depict earth in this context anyway? I'd go for glowing green stuff ... I might be convinced to throw together some FX textures while I'm working on my own project. If you have the Fairy Wings Deluxe from DAZ all of the MAT poses associated with its sparklies work on the FX sparklies

AceC ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 2:50 PM

Perhaps as a spray of dirt/rocks?

akura_ ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 8:02 PM

spray of dirt/rocks is exactly what I'm looking for.

bnetta ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 8:47 PM

i would looked at the save pose script recommened but, don't understand how its used...lol i would really like a spiral pose of the particals going around like a dust devil with the character inside.. any one have a pose like this? netta

Ajax ( ) posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 9:15 PM

You need Poser Pro Pack or Poser 5 to use the script. If you open it in a text editor, you'll find all of the documentation at the top. Other than that, it's just like using any python script.

I made galaxies and globular star clusters (a half dozen each) for a project... which folks could have if they wanted them. Grey scale only, like Anton's ariginals, so that you can apply a bit of ambiant color if you want. I just needed the desaturated look. As is, they pop right into place when loaded in the materials window (I avoid MATs). Hmm... rummage... OK, 6 each. I'd have to dig further to see whether I desaturated before or after shrinking them. Originals courtesy of NASA and the ESO. Carolly

hauksdottir ( ) posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 4:12 AM

Note that is TWO tails and TWO streams wrapped around him with an extra square at his hand. Doing random sprays is fine, but when you are trying to nudge a galaxy without jostling the others? Even ezpose didn't help. :(

FishNose ( ) posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 4:39 AM

Ooh Carolly - starclusters & galaxies sounds SO cool. Love to have that :o) :] Fish

hauksdottir ( ) posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 7:16 AM

OK, they are small, about 50k each, so a zip with 12 inside makes a tidy package for sliding in a mailbox. I'll put it up on my website but that may take a couple of days, so if anybody wants them now, IM me with an email address, or email me at hauksdottir@earthlink.net. Note that if you use them on a pure black ground, you may need to clean up the edges of the squares in postwork. I just added a bit of ambient color and a whisper of color looks good. Anton had made his as just a transmap not a texture map which is why I'd desaturated mine before rendering. As to what Lyrra might be up to? Hmmm... dirt, pebbles, rock salt for dry stuff... and splats, paint drops, and maybe gooey alien lifeforms for the wet? Wriggly little aliens could be fun if modeled after sea life or those precambrian-monster-thingies. (I'm thinking of sci-fi scenes where the heroes get attacked by clouds of nasty little critters.) Doing a real spiraling dust devil would take several streams of particles, but would still look coarse. It might be easier to map the pattern on a cone and use 3-4 cones inside each other. If the cone had more polygons, it would be morphable to get a bulbous middle and the tail in a twist. :) Carolly

ynsaen ( ) posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 7:54 AM

lol There is a new magic pack from the Be creatives team coming out this month as well -- and oddly enough, those spirals are in it...

Oh, and I promise this time the stupid zip file will work right...

Oh, guys, I forgot one more element: necromancy

cedarwolf ( ) posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 9:14 AM

I love these things. The more the merrier!

Lyrra ( ) posted Fri, 07 May 2004 at 1:06 AM

me takes notes Carolly you have a strange mind ... I like that in a person mmmm galaxies ... leaves, paramecia ..bugs ...blood, sparklies, snowflakes ... dirt, lightning

akura_ ( ) posted Fri, 24 December 2004 at 10:38 AM

I hope maybe someone will come up with new stuff for it.

mabfairyqueen ( ) posted Wed, 05 January 2005 at 11:54 PM

I have a bit much on my plate right now in the way of projects, more than I could do, but it would be cool if someone made more textures for the magic. You can do some cool effects with it.
