Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 19 10:45 am)
Oh, I also think that they should have more clothes and poses for each figure or model. I bought the Zygote Bass, no poses or textures. I bought the fishing rod, no poses or textures. I'd like to actually be able to fit my props with the figures instead of working in a crammed workspace trying to pose them in.
$249. I think Poser is very well the money. For texture and props and so on, there are so many site that provide them you will not have difficulty with that. I got about 10 CDs full of stuff which I do not even have time to play with. Zygote provide the basic model and you can build from it. I bought Animation Master for the same price and do not get so much for my money. Claude
You want to make props, terrain, cartoons ... many apps can do. You want to tell a story about people, Poser's the only game in town under five figures. the application is only the central part of a aggregate of contributing artists in a whole community built around the application. Sort of like the power train, frame, and wheels of a car... you can drive it off the showroom dirt cheap ... the rest of it you build as you want it when you want it. OBTW: Multiple screens cut down on the working space. You can move around the scene with the curser without changing cameras.

Basically, I love Poser...it gives me quick result and I can still make it as difficult and custom as I want. The only BIG annoyance I normally have with Poser 4 is the inconsistant undo option. Like, for my company I change the intro picture of our website every month. If I had to render a complete new figure every month in Maya or 3DMax that would cost me the entire month :) Now it's fast and easy! The Engineer. When I first read about Poser 3 & 4 all I heard was good talk. When I went out and bought it I spent a little over 300 bucks, which resulted in a broken keyboard. I had trouble understanding the manual and the rendering engine sucked! Was it really worth 300 some odd bucks? I think Poser 3 & 4 users should get some of the new Poser figures and props for cheaper then actually given. Its Bullsh*t when we spend that money for a program that really isn't worth it...just because they talked about it a lot. They acted like the images they had for example were just done with Poser. Premier figure animation software? Sure. I want the Millennium figures because they actually look like normal humans instead of elbow ripping block headed people. I think that Poser 4 should have came with more figures, poses, and other goodies...that would've made it actually worth the money. It doesn't support things like game design, the animation is frustrating, and it has little options for the figures. I mean Poser 2 actually had different weight types and stuff. I'd like to see a Poser 5 with improvements and more stuff, I'd even pay the 300 again if it was actually worth it! Does anyone know or have any information regarding Poser 5...its been long enough hasn't it? Oh I also think Zygote should own Poser! If they did it would probably look better in a newer release and probably be worth more overall. Sorry for Complaining so much. JMFx
