Subject: Content CD Don Not Working Properly

TC ( ) posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 3:34 PM · edited Wed, 13 November 2024 at 10:25 PM

When I try to load "Don Nude CD Morphs" file, Poser asks for a couple of nonexistent Jpg's and then loads a version of Don with missing left collar morphs ... Was under the impression that one of the SR3 patches cured this, but it hasn't seemed to work in my case ... Any thoughts?

Hmm perhaps the Figures Updater only work on the Content CD-Don if he's installed before the updater? I can't remember if or when I installed my Content-CD-Don :o(

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

At CuriousLabs there is a patch for SR4.1, but you still need the Figure Updater patch as well. Nab both patches and install them, then check Don again. I'm pretty sure that I'm using hires Don, but confess that I haven't looked at morphs below his neck yet.

Thanks for the suggestions...Still stuck... All patches and figure updaters are installed and all versions of Don are updated and working fine (so's the rest of Poser) except for the version on the content CD...

OK, tonight I'll go play with the content CD version and see if the collar goes all weeedgety. So, if I understand, you have a right hand morph which isn't on the left, and you don't want to restrict yourself to portraits of Richard III....

Hmmm....Never thought about doing an RIII... Yup, you've got my problem pegged...The right collar is chock full of morphs, but the left collar is totally devoid of them...

I looked and have morphs on both sides... lots of them. Unfortunately many don't seem to do anything obvious. Setting a buff pec at 1 produces a blatant visual change, but not on the triceps. But the Don I'm using does indeed have morphs on both sides. Hmmm... now to figure out if he IS the one from the Content CD. It is hi-res, so it ought to be. Richard III was a superb warrior and very decent administrator, calumnied by the victors. :sigh: Since exposure was part of the coronation ceremony, if he had been a hunchback he would never have been shown almost nude to the public during investiture. (Somehow I just cannot picture Queen Elizabeth II standing on a balcony in her underwear for any reason... so they must have changed things a bit in the last few hundred years.) He tested a new sword blade by beheading a flock of sheep, and was used to fighting all day so the muscles on that side were overdeveloped. It is probable that many of his best fighters also had the same pattern... and that any twistiness was due to the lifestyle rather than a birth defect. There are male rowers out in Africa who paddle with one leg... after years they get really muscled on one side which affects their walk. There are very good portraits of the king, so dressing him shouldn't be that hard. I'm working on facial morphs, and might see what can be done there. Meanwhile, if you have lemons and ice... make lemonade. ;^) If his left shoulder looks like a computer hacker's and his right looks like Conan's, you might have trouble fitting him, but a little bit of difference ought to make for an interesting image. Thanks for checking out your verson of the file... Looks like the goofiness is something in my set-up...Time to install P5 on another machine and see if anything changes...Otherwise, I guess I'm stuck with skinny or hunchbacked Don's...Too bad bwcause I really like him as a character...Oh well, back to grafting Don's head onto Mike 1 and 2 when I need body morphs... Anyhow, thanks again for the help and congrats on the role as coordinator...(and for the info on RIII)...
