Subject: Import pz3 into pz3

I tried searching through the forum for this but had no success. This may be possible but due to my serious lack of RTFM syndrome I don't know. Let's say I have a 'scene' with one character and I also have two or three pz3's of separate characters. I'd love to be able to 'import' an external pz3 into my current scene. I realize you couldn't really import an entire scene but it should be feasible to select a character and copy it into a new scene. Does this make sense? Am I dreamin'? I imagine it couldn't work with Poser 5 due to the way things are structured. But, it should be possible.

It is posible to import a whole scene into an existing scene. Go to File > Import and choose Poser file (pz3). Have fun.

If you save your existing characters to the figure library you'll have no trouble adding then to a new scene.

Hi Phil! I've heard of that but haven't done it. hmm, I would do a save and navigate to my runtime/libraries/character folder?

No you would use the "+" at the foot of the library window just under the text "Add to Library". This text is only visible when you have your mouse over the "+" and there is a figure in the scene.

No, just select the figure and click on the + sign at the bottom of the library palette. If the character is clothed, you'll get the option to save as a complete set or nekkid body only. :)

Actually, 3d max has this function (and it's intelligently implemented). It's called 'Merge' and not only can you merge scenes, but you can choose the exact items you want to merge from a dialog box listing the entire scene. I use it all the time. I've even programmed my own hotkey for it. mac
