Subject: Poser Won't Open After Downloads!!

On two occassions, I downloaded 'free stuff', worked in Poser, shut down my computer, but then couldn't get into Poser when I started up again later. As poser started up, I got a box that said 'Parser Error' and 'Bad Command Line 7 - Generating Report' or something like that. I could only click 'OK' in the box, which closed the program and took me back to Windows. I had to de-install and re-install Poser both times -EEEEK!! Fortunately, I didn't lose any of my files (strange?). Anyone know what's going on? Thanks so much, Andrew

I've downloaded hundreds of freebies and never experienced anything similar. Sorry, I can't offer any help!

No idea why its happening but this may fix it.....make a copy of the poser.rsr that is in your poser folder, if you have the same problem again replace the rsr with the backed up one...its not a 100% fix but odds are on ...make sure you have the latest patches too.....Steve

The parser error tells me you are using Poser 5 and the error relates to the names of files and directories. The error is easily curable by installing the latest service release from the curious labs website. This error is also documented in the FAQ's at Curious Labs.

The Parser error was fixed with a Service Release for Poser 5 a year or more ago.
