I have XP home. I have only found a few corrupt files, usually only when i am trying to download a bunch at once. thus far most have been "fixed" by redownloading them. maybe try downloading them again.

I just downloaded tommy and opened it. so i dont think it is the zip file on their end. are you using xp's internal zip or something like winzip? whats your connection like? dial up or highspeed?

ya might try winzip (if you can download it). beyond that i'm not sure.

Another vote for WinRAR (rarsoft.com). It's more powerful than WinZIP, and works very nicely with XP home.

I kinda dont like promoting a product over a solution, but i use XP home with internal zip over a dial up and I very rarely get corrupted files and when i do i redownload them and they work. Sorry.

or stuffit, or ultimate zip, or you name it..I've used Winzip since pkzip alpha v.097 (mid-80's..;), but winrar or stuffit will do zips and rar's, or the Mac stuff, which can be handy since a lot of the time, the files are interchangeable..

You could also get GetRight or some other download manager (I know it won't work on Rosity's Download" buttons, but for many other things GetRight is a great help.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Windows' built-in support for zip files is not the best. It commonly gives the error that the file is "corrupt" (when it's not). Your best solution is to go download WinZip (it's free), install it, and let Winzip handle zip files. Remember, if the files were really corrupt, there would be a lot more complaints. Or, you could replace the TCP/IP packeting software that you use to connect to the DNS router along the ISDN circulatory ambiotic connector. Then, re-route power to the ODN circuits and reset your DSN and IP transport connectors. :-) In other words, look for the simpliest solution first (get Winzip) before doing something very complicated (like replacing a modem or motherboard).
oh..tried that, but the firewall won't let me have access permissions, either to the router or the proxy server..;) I've asked for the updated IP protocol..but so many packages don't seem to support it..and I keep crawling down ODN conduits in an attempt to run into 7 of 9, or B'ehlanna..but no luck yet..;)

I keep having problems downloading files from the freestuff area. I often get messages that the file downloaded is corrupt or empty. I think I started noticing this when I upgraded to Windows XP home edition. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
