Subject: Creating new clothes for Poser figures

I would like to create new clothes for Poser figures. Is there a tutorial somewhere that will walk me through this process? What folder has the texture maps for Poser figures? How do I replace the maps with my own from within Poser after I've created my own maps?

Which version of Poser are you used? There are some big differences in how you go about changing texture maps in the different versions. Most tutorials I've seen focus on Poser 4. In Poser 5, it's done through the Materials room. The usual place to find textures is in the runtimetextures folder, and sub-folders.

Oops. I have Poser 5. If I import props I've created (.obj)into Poser, do I texture those in the Material room as well? If I import my own prop, can I choose the mapping type (cylindrical, planar, etc.) in the Material room? Thanks.

The mapping will have to be applied outside of Poser using a Utility like UV Mapper. Poser has zero UV mapping capability so it has to be ready to accept a texture when poser gets it. Once you have it UV mapped, you can go into the material room and apply any material you like.

Thanks, Sooner. I found a good tutorial on using UV Mapper for creating maps for Poser. That should get me going.
