I need some ideas of what else to make for this church. I already have planned a steeple section, a clock, a porch for the main doors, bible stand, pews, altar, pulpit, traditional wrought iron fencing and arched gateway, and a font, along with pillars for the interior and a ceiling sections (for those budding Michealangelos). Can anyone think of anything else? I've got a wierd feeling that I've missed something

Depending on the faith, there is often a room either close to the cross or the entrance at the other end for a minister and associates to prepare for the service. The entrance from this room may be a door or a curtain. Most often found in 'high' church as in Catholic, Episcopalian, et al.

A few crooked headstones around the outside would look pretty good. Oh, and the font - will it be a Windows one? (hee hee, couldn`t resist ;-)

Flying buttresses? Graveyard tombstones? Bells? Quasimodo? :) Its a good looking model. philc_agatha_white_on_black.jpg

Do you mean like a small side building attached to the rear wall?

Normally the additional room is part of the structure. It can be behind the wall behind the cross or off to the side. If none is internal, the most common alternative is the residence of the minister which is normally co-located with the church. I have not seen a separate small structure.

I like the idea of bells, possibly incorporated into a second steeple piece? Flying butresses? (not quite sure what they are). Gravestones (see freestuff or 3DCafe, there are already hundreds out there), This is probably going to end up in the store (see post above -the church already is) and I would feel right selling something that laready exists for free in abundance. PhilC, You're good enough to make Quasi yourself:) or ask Trav to make a humped back morph:) PolarTech, thought I might make it bold/italic too, do you think poser could cope with that. Incidentally, this was all made in poser with the exception of a quarter tube, a tube and a few holes made with booleans in Truspace 2 (an old PC Plus freebie:), and for once the scaling is correct, the main door (presuming that posette is roughly 6 feet tall, is about 9-10 feet high.

Buttresses are essential props to take the weight of the roof at a lesser angle than the vertical walls do. They function like stone tent ropes and look like the landing legs of a lunar lander with the church proper as the spaceship. .... coincidentally of course.

A ministerial residence. A seperate building altogether? perhaps with a covered walkway to the rear of the church? That may be a seperate project altogether. An interior room can definately go on the list. I will eventually get around to the seperate building though, I eventually plan to make a whole village, including cottages, inns etc.

Butresses, thatnks for clarifying. They will also get added to the list. Thanks all, I'll try to get this done a lot quicker than the curch took. It had me ripping hair out for almost 2 weeks, I nearly turned to religion:)

{What do gargoyles marry?} My wife... Isaac Christians married his childhood sweetheart until he discovered she was undead and a demon was using his Gargoyle body... (Old Marvel Comics mini-series :-D).

Also a Roster sign - usually a little designed thing itself that houses a board they put letters into to announce services, etc. And maybe statues on pedestals (though people could make those themselves too...) Dave J

How about an indoor baptismal pool? Many churches I have been in have them. They're usually behind the choir which is in pews behind the pastor. They're kind of like giant fish tanks with glass walls that are about 7 or 8 feet high but solid at the bottom, (in case the baptismal gown flies up in the water, hehe )so the congregation can watch the baptism, with two doors in the back wall, one where the person who is about to be baptised enters (on the right when watching from the congregation) and one where the person exits when the ceremony is finished. Usually several members are baptised on the same day, and the pastor stands in the pool and waits for each one to enter, then he baptises them, and they exit through the other door. Confused now? I wasn't sure how to explain it in case you've never seen one. :) Tara
