Subject: i'm lost need help

hi my name is yaya and last night i was rendering a scence using poser 5, well poser went insane and locked up...i re-booted and re-opened poser and it tells me library cannot been located or created...i thought virus? so i did virus scan and nothing wrong...so i un-installed poser and re-installed and i am still getting same message....can anybody give me a clue what to do :( how do u live without your poser :(

Does it say which library it can't find?

nope it just says library not found and can't be created but when i look they r all there in their folders...it won't even allow me to add runtime...if i click on a folder i get the message...

So Poser actually starts up but then you can't do anything? Other people know more, but I've heard this sort of thing in relation to the Poser main rsr file (in your top level Poser directory) getting corrupted - perhaps it got corrupted in your crash, and did not get over written when you reinstalled. I'd uninstall poser, delete all files and directories related to poser by hand afterwards, possibly check the registry (I'm assuming you're using Windows) and remove any remaining poser related keys, then install again - preferably to a different disk if you can. If anyone else has an easier solution they should chime up. Hope this helps, Unzipped

well i am deframenting drive now and will see if that helps..but your idea sounds good..just sooooooo much time...anybody got maybe sumptin easier, bottom if i have too i will..i need my POSER fix! thanks for your help

Try installing Poser to a completely new place - a different drive or at least a new folder on the same drive. You can leave the original folder where it is - doesn't matter that it's there. :] Fish

well fish kisses to u..it worked..the program now opens and i can access my folders...but alas there is now another problem when i add the runtimes folder it list the names i have attached to the folders but there is nothing there..any suggestions and thanks!
