THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Getting really tired of "you made that in Bryce?"

electroglyph ( ) posted Sat, 19 June 2004 at 9:42 AM · edited Sat, 25 January 2025 at 2:18 AM

Just got through voting for Rayraz new image. The first comment was, "You made that in Bryce?" Time and time again Orbital, Rochr, Flak, etc. produce stunning images and no one seems to believe it's possible. How many thousand examples will it take before people get it?

I kinda get a giggle when I hear people asking that question in disbelief. It's a testiment of the artist's ability and what he does with his tools. Yeah baby!

I have to admit ive left a few comments like that, but i agree with quest,it really shows how amazed bryce users can be,time and time again by awesome images by rochr, flak etc..

Know what you mean, even I got that comment from someone about my entry for the rend spring challenge, and I am nowhere near the league that captor quotes. Bryce rocks!

I get that too, but I always assume the emphasis is on the YOU... "YOU made that in Bryce?" ;-)

This was my comment on the Rayraz picture. I just wanted to say that I am impressed by the result

I wish I'd get that comment a bit more often...(sigh)

I apologise for being too defensive. I've heard lots of comments about Bryce being a toy. "Get a real 3D app then you can do real work." I've heard the same sort of comments about Paintshop vs Photoshop. I can duplicate the same effects from the high pass filter or glow using layers an gaussian blur. Chohole in the very next post shows how she did her rainbow lightbeam effect. I've seen just about every one-click effect from the high-end rendering packages duplicated and surpassed by clever Bryce artists in this forum. The earliest Rayraz work I remember offhand was the planet X contest. He was good then...He's better now. Don't be suprised to hear another, "YOU did that in Bryce" comment because he's going to do it again and again. It's not the tools that make the art, it's the artist.

Ca c'est s. Bryce n'est qu'un outil au service de l'auteur - Bryce is just a tool (a good tool !)

Rayraz is a very talented guy and only improves with age like a good wine. The thing lots of folk forget here is that Rayraz was just a babe when he started here and he's now grown into a reasonably well balanced individual, (considering what adolecence can be like). 8) His talent has gone from strength to strength and I for one have every faith that he will achieve his goals in life. 8) Catlin

OMG!! you people really like my work that much?? :O wow! :D :D :D :D thanx!! I personally can't get tired of the "you made that in Bryce?" thing :P It actually gives a bit of a kick to see people in disbelieve at the quality of the images I produce with the limited resources I've got. I like pushing technology and/or software to the max :) The only thing that frustrates me at the moment is lack of time. I know I can do better then I'm doing now if only I had the time. I've got a wide range of great ideas for new types of images I'd love to make, but they all involve time consuming heavy modelling jobs and I don't have that much time. Maybe in the 2nd half of summer vacation I'll have time to make at least one of my new ideas come to life :)

I love the disbelief that that coment engenders.
Yes! I did it in Bryce - now figure out HOW I did it in Bryce!!! HEHEHEH

I think this is a complement though!
