Subject: A few questions...

xantor ( ) posted Sun, 20 June 2004 at 11:36 PM ยท edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 9:05 PM

I seem to remember reading somewhere that a prop (pp2) can have morph targets, is that correct? Another question: when you send someone an IM here and it says eg xantor has received your message, is that message automatically sent or do you have to send a message received thing. I had another question about props but I have completely forgotten it. :(

ynsaen ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 12:25 AM

yes, a prop can have morphs. it's automatically sent to you. It was about where they go -- and that's entirely up to you.

It wasn`t about where they go, I am not a newbie, I started off with poser when it had no number after the name.

I had an answer about props but I have completely forgotten it. :(

Routledge ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 2:16 AM

No, a prop can`t have MATs applied from a MATpose without being parented to a figure. I have an answer but no question.

xantor ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 2:19 AM

I have a good insult for the jokers but I have NOT forgotten the TOS.

ynsaen ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 3:11 AM

lol sorry xantor -- wasn't making light of it. Seriously -- props can take morphs, and if the person recieves your IM, you are automatically notifed. and when you remember the other question, I'll give you an answer for it. if I remember too...

Ynsaen It wasn`t you I was calling a joker but these other two.

Routledge ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 6:40 AM

Ditto ynsaens comments, no malice was intended. Ill certainly try and help if you remember what it was.

xantor ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 10:20 AM

Re post #5: "No, a prop can`t have MATs applied from a MATpose without being parented to a figure." OH YES IT CAN!

xantor ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 6:43 PM

I must confess I have never made MAT poses or MOR poses and I still am not sure what a MOR pose is.

FreeBass ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 7:22 PM

MOR (basically) = "Body Shaping" pose....effects morfs, but not movement. What bugs me is that Poser asks ya if ya wanna save yr morfs w/ yr pose, but not if ya wanna save yr pose w/ yr morfs. Just another example of Poser gettin' it 1/2 right.

WARNING!

This user has been known to swear. A LOT!

xantor ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 7:25 PM

Thank you freebass.

lesbentley ( ) posted Mon, 21 June 2004 at 9:01 PM

A MOR pose is one that sets the "k" line values for targetGeom (morph) channels. If you save a pose from the Poser interface and use "Include morph channels in pose set", a MOR pose is what you are left with if you open it in a text editor and delete all the translation and rotation channels. Contrast a Delta Injection pose, which actuslly puts a new morph target into an existing channel.

FreeBass, you have a good point. Why can't we sace out a MAT, MOR, or Delta Injection pose, from the interface? I would make life so much easier.

A related question, why can't I save selected eliments from my document, like cameras, lights, props, and figures, to one pallet entry? This would be easy to impliment! Instead I have to go through the pz3 deleting all the parts I dont want, change it's extension to cr2, and move it to a character folder. Again life could be so much easier, I can understand why these things wern't in P4, but sureley by P5 they should have included them?

Hi, Ive just come back on line. Xantor, thanks for the message, glad I didnt offend you. Lesbentley, thanks for the info, just shows what happens when you don`t come in to the forum too often, what was once ancient wisdom becomes redundant ramblings. So I now have an answer that not only has no question but is wrong too! Excellent... I did know the answer to the MOR pose question though...
