Just for all those people who get focused on the wrong thing..if you open a winzip on some of the Poser stuff here, in the rightmost column of Winzip is the actual path that was zipped, so you can determine which will 'automaticlly' unzip to the right place in runtime, and which won't..;) I see a few sheepish heads bobbin' out there, so I know I'm not alone..;) i.e., the safest ones will start with Runtime..if not, you may have to do it manually..a lot more stuff is actually popping up now..: they don't call me 'Pakled' for nothin'..;) back to your normally scheduled posts..;) (how is this stupid? I've had Poser for over a year, and have been using Zips since the 80's..;) ay me..;)

That's OK Pakled. Albert Einstein supposedly only had 8 suits, 8 shirts, 8 pairs of socks, and 8 pairs of underwear ; all the same colors. It is said he had more important things to worry about than did his shirt and tie match! You are just thinking about more important things... yeah, that's the ticket!

finally..? Geez, I do them frequently!

I always check that the path has been included with any downloads the way pakled says. After I installed something into main C :)

I alwyas unzip into a temp folder and move stuff around before putting them in my runtime. But I have control issues the size of texas shrug

What`s a "Runtime" ? I just put 'em all in one huge folder and let 'em fight it out!

I always look at the path in winzip before I do anything. Textures and geometries I allow to unzip in their suggested places (if they start at the runtime root and end up in the Textures subdirectory). Otherwise I explicitly tell the files where to go myself. My only problem is that sometimes in going back and forth I forget to check/uncheck the "use directory path" option in winzip and end up with things in the wrong place, but I usually realize that as soon as it happens, so it's no big deal to cut and paste them where I want them to go. Now if the DAZ installers were a little more user friendly in this regard (I realize there are alternative methods for dealing with them, but they're a hassle).... Unzipped

so I'm not alone..now I have to go back and try installing a lot of characters..but that's ok..just though some of the noobs among us (and I'm still in their numbers) might want the hint..;)

I always stow them away manually 'cos before I had too many problems with files going to all sorts of strange places. But to get to this point took ages 'cos I used to also be like "where's the runtime". lol 8) Catlin
