I'm guessing it belongs to this... If all the other elements of the free stuff pack are there then you don't need it. either that or it was generated by a windows help fileThanks. I think it is the second that is right (windows help file) because there is a help file instead of a readme file with those packs of textures and mat poses. I wonder if I delete the GID file if I'll still be able to open the help file... I'll try that. Do you know if it takes a special program to create such help files? France

I removed the GID file and the help file still opens. ;o) France

Windows creates the GID file, which is a sort of dictionary, when you use a HLP file. When you ask for a keyword index, and Windows spends several minutes "writing on the pages of a book", it is making the GID file. So the only reason to keep the GID file is to avoid watching that little pen writing on the book! If you never use the keyword feature, it won't matter at all.

Hello! I found a file with GID extension in a freebie package for Poser. Do you know what kind of file that is and what program can open it? ... and is it necessary to open it? Thanks. France
