Subject: Poser 4 on the Mac

deedub ( ) posted Mon, 28 June 2004 at 4:26 PM · edited Thu, 07 November 2024 at 4:12 AM

Hi Folks:
I recently abandoned my good ol' Mac 9600for a G5. Initialized the system drive and lost a bunch of stuff. In amongst it was a beautiful liitle shareware which converted such files as rsr from PC to Mac. I CANNOT rember the name well enough to make a successful search for it on the web. It was PCtoMac or some such name. Does anybody recognize the application? Know the name? Even better, where to get it?????? :/
Thanks for reading this,
deedub

While you're there, get UVX as well. It's the Mac version of the UV mapping program to create texture maps. A swell little program.

You mean Steve Cox's UVmapper?

Gearcy ( ) posted Mon, 28 June 2004 at 9:10 PM

Yes. For some reason, the icon says UVX, but when I open the program it says UVMapper. The original Windows code, according to the "About" window is by Steve Cox, but it was ported to the Mac by Steve Martin. A wild and crazy guy, no doubt -- but I didn't think he was a coder, as well.

UVX being the OS X version?

nomuse ( ) posted Mon, 28 June 2004 at 9:38 PM

Pity the port of UVmapper Pro seems to have moved to the "never" pile.

Steve Cox' house burned down some time ago, which set back all development of UVMapper. I wouldn't give up hope for a Mac version some day in the future :o)

Oh, my. I figured he was going through something. Thought it was just raising a kid. The kid is okay, right?

Yeah as I recall it was "only" half of the house - but the half with his computers and stuff. Everyone got out unharmed :o)
