I got an error too when I tried to render a pz3 that I imported. But I was able to save as a file for Bryce and import into Bryce without any problem. I actually posted a message about this at the DAZ site the same day the Bryce plugin came out, but I never received any answer. I assumed you couldn't render a PZ3 file in Studio.

I'll write it down the next time I try it. I think it just opens a little dialogbox that says "An Error occured" and there is an ok button. When I click on ok, I'm back where I was before I tried to render. Before the error, I think it says it's processing various textures. But I'll pay attention to everything next time. But like I said, I can render to a new window without error.
Well, I figured I'd be able to reproduce this error. It happened every time I tried to render. This was from a fresh install, where nothing had been changed. Yesterday I discovered that if I chose new window that the error didn't occur. So I was happy about that. So today I fired up DS and reset it so that it would render in the active window. But this time it renders with no error. Honestly, I can't explain it. I had no trouble reproducing the error until I changed to render to New Window. I didn't know there was a log file in DAZStudio. I'll take a look and see if there's anything useful there. I do have one other problem though...when I render, my character's eyes seem to disappear and the eyebrows and hair don't seem to be properly transmapped. It's like the transmaps were applied at 50% strength or something. Any ideas there? And the odd thing is the preview looks better than the render in this area. The eyes are there and the hair appears to be transmapped properly.

As two of the other posts stated, I get an error message when I try to render. It fails with imported pz3s' and it failed when I tried to render the Egyptian background that Daz provides. I. as alot of people was planning on getting Bryce 5 from Daz. I have Vue, but getting Bryce for under 40 bucks is just to tempting. I've downloaded and installed Studio 3 times all with the same result. I use Windows Xp pro, pentium 4, and have 2 gig of ram. Since I'm here, I find the my willingnes to learn studio to be very slight. It's a lot different then poser and I'm not certain what the upside is to learn a new program that can do the same/less then a program I already know how to use. Hope you all had a nice 4th. Bill
