It depends on how powerful your computer is, what kind of textures you're using, and how many morphs you have injected. One benefit of using V3 is that you can inject only the morphs you need, keeping her lean and mean.
Do not use dynamic hair in a render with lots of Vickies, though. I've found Firefly won't tolerate a lot of characters with dynamic hair.
Ok... some more info... In fact, i don't want to give any more informations... Why i asked this is because i tried to render a picture with: - 5 Victoria3 with hairs (no cloth... hope i don't need to check nudity flag just by saying they are nude...). - The texture I used are high resolution. - The water has reflection node. - Raytrace shadow for all the 3 lights. And it hangs during the "Adding Object..." I used 4 for the Bucket Size, 2 for the shading rate and 2048 for the Maximum texture resolution... In fact, i don't really want to know how to render this picture. I just wonder how many V3 you can use in one render using any texture (and morph) and any render settings you want... Just use FireFly render in Production mode.
"no cloth... hope i don't need to check nudity flag just by saying they are nude..." Heck, you have to check the nudity flag just for referring to the nudity flag! Some of us are browsing at work, you know! We have small children at our sides (at work) asking "What's a nudity flag, Mommy?". All hell (sorry, heck) will break loose!
Every now and again I try to make my computer explode by loading figures into a scene. (ProPack. Didn't like P5.) I tend to use my Vicky3 with all morphs injected. Too much faffing around otherwise. I don't want to spend half an hour injecting before I even start setting a scene up. So far my gallery contains one pic with 3xVicky2 and 3xVicky3. All use the same texture to save file space. (The pz3 was over 470Mb)The scene wouldn't render with even one more Vicky2 figure. I've never successfully rendered a scene with more than 3 fully injected Vicky3 or Mike3. For large groups I tend to stick to Vicky2 and Mike2 with maybe one Vicky3 as the main character. Maximum so far is One Vicky3, One Freak and Nine Mike2. All morphs injected in the third generation figures, same texture for all the Mikes. Or one Vicky3, five Vicky2 and 3 Mike2, each with different hair and textures. My newest has four Millenium Dragons. Would have had more but I started getting crosstalk problems that neither Ockham's python script or Nerd's EMC fixer would cure. :o(

ROFL; TTYL. Black belt in Google-fu.
V3's are just too big (empty) to do a lot as poser has a limit on file size and at some point it all becomes futile... I had a PZZ that took 10 minutes just to open! At that point, any changes have long response times. DOF becomes an issue too. Why trade 120megs of mesh for 80pixels of JPG.? I've done a few monsters when I'm in self-abuse mode. It does challenge you, though.
Azl's Crowd Kit might solve your problem for you.
You can render 100's of Victorias (clothed or unclothed) with the use of azl's crowd kit.
It would, however, require some work to produce all of the base characters and poses for the scene. Time-consuming.
Another suggestion:
This may seem obvious, but you might want to consider using the LoRes Vicky figure for background characters in crowd scenes.

"Why trade 120megs of mesh for 80pixels of JPG.?" Exactly. What's the point of using a 70,000 vertices figure when it's covering only a visible area of 1000 pixels? You could use a 10,000 vertices figure instead, saving lots of resources, without any visible difference at all. That's what the LoRes figures were made for - with polygon smoothing enabled and a good bump or displacement map, who can see the difference?

I just wonder how many Victora3 you can render at once in Poser5, Firefly Render ?
