Subject: A question on weird shadow effect...

dante ( ) posted Sat, 10 July 2004 at 11:19 AM ยท edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 4:46 AM

Ok, in this pic, Im using just the default lights. Only one casts shadows, with these settings: Shadow - 0,800 Map size - 2048 intensity - 97% The hat of course is set to casting shadows...but as far as I can tell that band of light inside the shadow is made by the band in the hat for some reason not casting shadows, but the hat is a single obj....so, whats causing that weird band of light?? Thanks in advance

Well, on further examination, it looks the shadows dont start exactly where they should...btw, this is poser 4.03.

Not sure. Did you set the shadow camera properly? They show you where the lights are pointing... so you can fit the things you want shadows on into the frame.

I had this very problem recently with a hat too, but I'm using the P4 renderer in P5 sr4.1. Am I having the same problem and will the fix work in P5 too? If it does I'll be more than happy 'cos this has been driving me nuts. Thank you 8) Catlin

Decreasing the shadow bias can help too.
