Er, I have a tiny little office off in one corner of a disused end of the floor where the university hides the English department...I share the office, and computer, with a couple of other graduate teaching assistants and we don't tell the tenured's what we're up to most of the time. OF course, having graduated and now awaiting a PhD slot while teaching as an adjunct, I may lose access to this computer but I"ve taken steps and prepared for just such an occurance...hehehehe...er, ahem... We get older, "refurbished" systems that the profs and admin don't want to use anymore. And having access to the T1 line makes it sweet.
I read the following in a DAZ forum and found it helpful, hope it helps you too. Unzip to the dummy folder with "use paths" enabled, and find the Runtime folder created there (it may be nested inside other folders, which is why I suggest going to a dummy folder first) - copy it across to your Poser-standin folder (eg DAZ StudioContentRuntime). Empty the dummy folder and repeat for the next item. In DAZ|Studio go to Edit>Preferences, pick the Directories tab, pick the Poser Content Directories item for the drop-down list, then click the Add button and use the tree-style dialogue to select the Poser stand-in folder (the one that contains the Runtime folder). In the Content palette, click the menu arrow at top right and pick View folders as tree - you should have an entry for you new folder, with sub-categories for the items you've installed. Ok, how do I add content to the file system for DAZStudio? I want to add a few props and lights to the copy I have at the office so I can work with it on my breaks but I can't figure out where to put things. Any suggestions that aren't too impolite? ;-}
