Part of the paragraph above the one that you quote is "If you must link to a web page due to the nature of your ISP/hosting service, the FREE content MUST appear on the same page that is being linked to in the Free Stuff gallery entry.". I'm sure that Renderosity's hosting allows direct downloads, so you are right by the TOS, even though the download link is on the page.
Mock is going out of his way to provide (for FREE) an item he created. Why should he not be allowed to promote his store as well? Why should he not have a chance to make a little something back when he is spending his money to create, host and share his model that he is giving away without charging anyone? I hate to be rude, but please go find something to complain about that matters.
To Mock :: please what is your email dress? I have been working on a version with the mesh file size much smaller.
The links MUST BE TO FREE ITEMS. Any links found to non-free content will be immediately deleted.
What happens if the link points to a mixture of free items and non-free items, as here? The launcher proved to be free.

There has been numerous occasions of people linking to their own webpages where there's a mixture of commercial and free items. As long as the free item is on the first page, it's ok. Remember a certain red hairdo that appeared over and over again some time back? It was always the only free item on an otherwise commercial site, but apart from the fact that some people were getting sick of all the "reposts", it was ok by the TOS.
FREEBIES! | My Gallery | My Store | My FB | Tumblr |
You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
It seems to me the polite thing to do in a case like this would be to IM Mock and/or a moderator about the "problem", rather than start yelling on a forum that Mock might not even visit. There's a freebie on the page that's linked to. It's fulfilling the TOS. Besides, if the freestuff section is going to allow items that require a purchased passcode, I don't see this as any worse. At least this item actually is free.
Well then it's ok by me, just thought it was a slap in the face of the tos, but if it's ok by the mods then I'm fine with it. Guess everyone can set their free stuff up on their store pages. Just wonder how long it will take for folks to get tired of it, could it be called a red hairing? ouch...lol Marque
I don't have a problem with links to other pages, it's when those pages require a registration to download that it gets a little out of hand. And the lack of decent descriptions of free items is pretty frustrating as well. Sure it's free, but before I spend 30 mins downloading it I would like to know if I can even use it.
As long as the link to the free stuff is there where advertised, it is ok for me and I am thankful to the person who provides the free content.
As long as the link to the free stuff is there where advertised, I don't have any problem with the other stuff on the page. The link was proved to be truthful and nobody is forced to buy anything.
I don't see the reason for this attack.

Well looks like I should make it a point to visit the forums from time to time, I just get board with the content, so on with the nice nice. Im sorry Marque doesnt like where I put my FREE stuff but as stated it is FREE, it is their, and yes I am out to make a little money on the side. Besides all free stuff items are approved before posted now, so if the mods had a problem with how I did things or if it violated the tos dont you think I would have herd from them? Not to mention Renderosity makes money off my sales as they do all venders if how I worked things stretches the intent of the tos a bit in-order to improve traffic to my store to improve sales and thus make more profit for them and me likely theyd be ok with it. Please if you have further problems with my FREE stuff or products feel free to im or E-mail me.
