I am a new member- have been curious now some time about gallery pics that the artist lists were made using both Bryce and Vue to create. I have been using Bryce now for about a year and a half, learning to create pics and animations. I now have Vue 4, which I love, and 3DS Max. I have tried different ways to "export" or use native formats between the two 3d programs, to no avail. I must be missing something. Looking forward to posting some of my stuff here for the first time. Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't think I've noticed images here (at least in the Vue gallery) which use both Vue and Bryce, other than maybe as a sky alpha plane or something similar. Do you have any examples of images? You're right, neither program will read the others' native format; not surprising to me, as most of these types of proggies won't read imported stuff other than 3ds/obj, etc.

Well, actually it is possible for Bryce 5 to get their scenes into Vue 4, but it's for Mac users only as far as I know. http://www.angelfire.com/mac2/bryce2vue/ I'm not a Mac user, so when I switched from Bryce 5 to Vue 4, I just stopped using Bryce altogether. I needed to redo some scenes in Vue 4, of course, but the result is so much better then before. I really wished I switched when Vue 4 came out first, it's so much better then Bryce. I'm afraid there's nothing left to do then make a complete switch, unless someone else knows a solution.

I personally find Vue's terrain editor very difficult to get my head around. I'll usually use Bryce's terrain editor and then export to Vue. I do have to admit that I'm using Bryce less and less since I got Vue. Faster render, better veggies, much easier to use an alpha plane for the sky. Anyway, that's the Bryce/Vue combo that I use.

Thanks all- you've answered my question quite nicely. I keep forgetting about the Mac side of this stuff(being a pc user). Also, I had not thought it through on the terrain editing aspect- that may be what the artist was referring to. I do like Vue better, but there are a couple of handy things I like Bryce for- ya know, just habits that you develope with a particular program. The vegetation in Vue definitely blows Bryce away.
