Subject: Are nude images of The GIRL acceptable in the Gallery?

lululee ( ) posted Sat, 07 August 2004 at 10:16 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 9:31 AM

Just a quick question about The GIRL. I don't want to violate any TOS or have those nasty trolls attacking me. Are nude images of The GIRL acceptable in the Gallery? I feel she is an adult but I would like some verification before I post. cheerio lululee

I don't think you are going to be the first. As for the trolls, they don't need reasons.

igohigh ( ) posted Sat, 07 August 2004 at 11:08 AM

Maybe if we posted some 'NTIATWAS' pics then they wouldn't feel so left out :?

I see her as a "toon" adult all the way. Not even a question about that entered my mind since the first day I saw her. lol

They may look at her head and compare it to a 3-year-old girl's head. Nobody's forcing them to look, but they do it anyway. It's the same debate we've seen here since day 1, the trolls vs. the pedophiles vs. everybody else. Then the admins are left to try to clean things up, smooth out the ruffled feathers. Removal of images that violate the TOS is driven by complaints, but my guess is that they won't post complaints unless the body is morphed down to teen-age or pre-teen level. So there will probably be a few thousand images posted, then the interest will die down as the next big commercial item gets hyped. These things go in cycles, repeated without much variation over the years. The same rise and fall in interest, the same debates, the same attacks; at least that much is predictable.

I seem to recall a situation that there was a nude toon type character image that was pulled some time ago. The primary determinative factor (from what i recall) was that the character did not have any pubic hair. I'm not a moderator nor admin., but you might keep that in mind.

I've always considered her an adult, who ever saw someone underage with a chest like that? Can understand you wanting to play it safe though.

promajo ( ) posted Sat, 07 August 2004 at 1:14 PM

can someone give an explanation what a troll really is? she's a toon, toons don't have an age but she most resembles an adult, just like you can't tell the age of anime characters

Troll = anyone who points out an error in an image everyone else is calling awesome. Example: Nekkid figure has ass slicing through chair. People go Whoooo! Awesome. Someone points out ass slices through chair. Troll. (and troll gets comment removed) ~S

I have a few images of the Girl in my gallery and all are nudes ... uploading the next one at the moment. So go ahead and post, just don't forget to check the nudity flag ;-).

Here's the definition of 'troll'. Spinner knows this, I'm certain... :)

igohigh ( ) posted Sat, 07 August 2004 at 3:43 PM

promajo: don't let them fool you or yank your leg - Troll; noun, pronounced trowl A hugely handsome creature often inhabiting caves or living under bridges. Fond of goat meat and enjoys chasing villagers (especially pretty damsels). Favorite weapon is the club, often adorned with thorns or spikes. Really rather shy and would never consider slandering someone's artistic ability. Troll; verb, pronounced trowl The act of dragging bait through the water in hopes of hooking a fish, better yet a mermaid ;) You see what they are trying to describe is a louthly creature who inhabits forums and galleries and has no common courtesy or self dignaty. One who just slanders the work of others, usually because they are very lonely and feels no one shows them the attention they so desire. Let it be known that these such creatures are of Human origin and are not in ANY way related to Trolls!

Ha ! Spinner comes from the LAND of trolls, e-bob ! (and they look far from the Poser version) Check this out :-) http://www.cs.uit.no/~espensk/kittelsen/index-2.0.html and http://users.skynet.be/fa023784/troll_art.html (don't heed the Swedes, they know NOTHING ];-)) I had classes at art school with Werenskiold's spawn, btw. Was interesting :-) ~S Virtual cigars will not be dealt out for equations involving spinners and trolls ;-))

"Troll = anyone who points out an error in an image everyone else is calling awesome. " LOL, sometimes it seems that way, but of course it's really all about how you do it. I've left constructive criticism on images that even I thought I'd be skewered for afterwards and the artist actually IMd me to say thank you for the honest opinion. One godly artist here actually retouched his image, fixing what I had mentioned and reposted it (which I certainly did not expect). Basically, don't use "sucks" or "crap" in your comment and you're off to a good start. ;) SnowS

"No depictions of young humanoid characters/children giving the appearance of being under the age of 18 where genitals are displayed and/or in erotic, seductive, provocative poses or context. Since age is difficult to identify with 3D images, this will be at the discretion of the Renderosity team." *********************** Several of the promotional images by Goosens are "provocative"... rape bait. If she looks 15 or 16, or even younger, and the genitals are shown, it will probably be pulled. If she appears to be masturbating or whatever (twiddling her nipples like a radio dial) she will fall afoul of the other clauses in the TOS against sexual activity. What makes a model look underage? Childlike proportions, childlike poses, childlike clothing, childlike textures (especially no pubic hair). GIRL out-of-the-box has a baby face (big eyes and small upturned nose), and large head to body... so she is problematic, despite the developed breasts. Most of you will change her, though. Judgment on an image will be a team decision. I will certainly question images which look too young for the context. Not all questionable images are pulled. Each will be judged for itself, so it is hard to make a blanket statement. In a society where kids run around with pierced ears and make-up, the lines get really blurred. Remember that it isn't just nudity alone which is an issue... eroticism is another concern. This isn't the definitive answer you were hoping for, but maybe it helps a bit. Carolly Poser Coordinator

"Several of the promotional images by Goosens are "provocative"" No, I don't think so. They were all well done and tastefull. But then I like the Girl, maybe that makes the difference in how I see images of her. To me she looks anything like childlike. But then I am european and we see things a lot different anyways, maybe that's it.

If it wasn't for naked female images this place would be dead, that answer your question?

melanie ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 9:03 AM

Maybe it's just my imagination and I'm totally wrong, but I seem to remember something stated at DAZ way back when this character was first announced, long before she was even close to being released, some mention of a no nudity rule for renders with this character. Or did my memory just get confused with something else? It seems like folks were complaining about it. Or maybe it was just a rumor? Melanie

FyreSpiryt ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 12:03 PM

It was a joke that got taken seriously, as I recall.

EnglishBob ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 12:09 PM

You may be thinking of the Anna-Marie Goddard digital clone, Melanie. There were a whole bunch of restrictions on the renders you could do with her. "Spinner comes from the LAND of trolls, e-bob!" How could I forget - the episode with the polar bears is still fresh in my mind. ;) And I avoided any mention of fishing tackle too. I've been very good.
