THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: I really shouldn't do this... but I will.

Pumeco,

The idea of me being charged with being part of a clique, specifically that of the Bryce Forum, is inane. It shows that your knowledge of this forum might not be as good as you think. I do believe that I've been one of the most outspoken members of this community, and have rarely made friends because of that. Those who know me, however, know who I am and what I stand for, and I doubt they believe there's anything threatening or malicious in this human frame. I therefore do not have a clique and neither am I part of one.

The idea of the Bryce forum users being charged with forming a clique that is expressly "malicious" towards new users is largely false as well. Not only is this one of the biggest hubs for Bryce artists everywhere, but there is no other place on this world wide web that welcomes new users with the same warmth and willingness to help as we do. We do reserve these for users who are honestly trying to refine their skills and have some level of brevity in their posts.

I was not around when you first posted about PRO-RENDER. I heard about it from someone, and reviewed your posts on the matter. I think I posted about it, trying to judge if you were indeed presenting vaporware or had actually discovered something new and exciting. It was too hard for me to wade through all the silly repetitions (PRO-RENDER! PRO-RENDER! PRO RENDER!) in annoying capital letters or the excrutiatingly long and confused explanations you gave for the logical questions that were asked as a result of them. With the general idea being that no one really understood what you were talking about, I reached the rather uneducated conclusion that you were indeed presenting us with vaporware. I posted my thoughts to you, being outraged at the fact that you were insulting my intelligence and not coming up with any simple explanations of what your software was or actually did. I have continued to do so until today.

Why? Because not only am I one of your potential customers, but I feel that I have a voice and an opinion and I don't have a problem expressing it, given -what I saw- your lack of sincerity and ability to confuse a perfectly clear issue.

I am also a member of this community and have been a part of it for the last three years. I feel that I have offered a lot to it throughout this time, be it freebies, or simple art. More importantly, I tend to have a short fuse when it comes to certain issues, especially those related to Bryce. Like I told you on another forum, the Bryce community is a strong and dedicated one, with a lot of us having gone through a rather traumatic experience when faced with the loss of our favorite software. If you don't understand that, then you will never understand what Bryce is truly about.

I might be brash, young, naive, casual in my conclusions, with preconceptions as large as the world itself, but that is who I am. If anyone is perfect, let him throw the first stone. (Dammit Rochr!)

All that said, I'm not exactly sure what you want or are willing to do with PRO-RENDER. Again, I didn't quite understand what you were talking about. If you decide to sell it, scrap it, release it as a freebie, I will be equally ambivalent. It's your creation, with its own manual and supposedly fantastic rendering capabilities. And you're free to do with it whatever the hell you want. I will avoid making any further public commentary or judgements in regards to it, as I feel that your last thread and the responses you received to it are ample proof to the entire situation and to your own much-awaited creation. Sincerely yours, Mihnea

Why start a new thread? In a spirit of shit-stirring and begrudgery, I'd say ;o)

Who defines what's 'important'? Sounds like same old same old................bitch bitch bitch

draculaz ( ) posted Sat, 21 August 2004 at 9:34 AM

"Who defines what's 'important'?" Pog: We all do. Each one of us. Drac felt it was important to post. You felt it was important to reply. You're both right.

hmmm.....he was replacing everywhere to anywhere from his post.A simple spelling correction i guess. Also, Pumeco, if you need help to release PRO-Render,you should provide the files to some users(at any bryce forum for that matter). Not only could they help produce all the renders needed to explain the process, but it would take some of the stress off of you.I cant imagine a base scene file(sky preset,3 to 5 Mat examples, and the render options checked) would be over a meg, if that.I have tried to replicate your scene.....many times, although I'm not there yet.But I have put the scenes up for download at my internet file dump, for anyone to downlaod and play with.If you need help to produce this stuff in a timely manner by all means recruit me, or anyone for that matter. The only thing I cant figure out is how you get rid of the polys showing under true ambiance(although I have found that if a texture image is used instead of a dte,the poly showthrough disapears). Here is where I got to in the proccess. If you dont want everyone to know how it works yet, at least send a IM to me or something.Or download my scene files and give me hints as to what areas need the refining. Best wishes TwistedBolt.

I am just going to put some quartz crystals over in the corner and smudge a little with some sage and an eagle feather to drive out the negativity. While I am at it I will twist up a big fat spanker for you all to relax and enjoy in peace. I will also play my duombek to help send the evil negative vibrations back to the Poser forum where they belong. I LOVE ALL YOU GUYS AND GALS!!

LOL at groingrinder(that name makes me laugh man). Also,Pumeco, thanks for chatting with me in the Brycechat.I have to say,I didnt think that those things would affect the whole scene like that.I'm closer yet,the main "world" seems to be acurate, now for the textures....uggg.

LOL at groingrinder - the name makes me laugh too. Pumeco, same as TwistedBolt, if you need any rendering done I'll be happy to do it. And no fear that I'll steal any of your work, since I won't understand what's going on!!

I love you all too you crazy wild guys here! You were my first link to the 3D world and if it were not for you, I would have never gotten past the sphere and water bit. You're still the greatest in my eyes. :)

I think the name Groingrinder makes every one laugh. As usual I don't check my email for a couple of days and miss it all....thought all the fuss over Pro-render was over? We are just awaiting release to try it?
