Subject: Apo Tutorials.....and whining

Obviously there is a secret button that if left clicked changes the entire image in Apophysis. This button likes me today :(. I've lost several very cool images only to discover I can't hit undo, because there's nothing to undo!!!!!! Now, I know my hands tend to not cooperate with my head, causes so-so problems in UF3, but in Apophysis it's killing off those poor beautiful flames...Waaaaaa! Maybe it's sign it's break time, lol. I've read the great tuts by Fractaldreamer (Alot of help, BIG thanks!!)and the help section in Apo. Can anyone suggest some more good tuts on Apo? Maybe I'll just break to study those and wait for everything to uncross it's circuits in my head :). Sorry for the whining. Thanks if you read this far and I'm very, very thankful for any suggestions on tuts. Hope everyone had a great start to their week!

LOL...that's happened to me a couple times. Darned irritating...I don't do many tutorials, although I recommend Fran's tut to beginners all the time. What I like to do is dig into the settings of the program to get different types of flames. Right now I'm playing with the forced symmetry and variations on 2 or 3 transforms. I prefer adding a couple of transforms to the stationary one and deleting the ones randomly generated...that way I have a basic 2 transform flame to tinker with. I can set my variations and rotate and flip transforms to my hearts content and I learn a bit more about controling the shape of the flame each time. I save parameters often in different flame files that I name based on symmetry or variation. Mainly because I have lost so many I wish I hadn't. I've barely skimmed the surface on this program...oh, I've altered Mark's scripts to make my own also but haven't done one from scratch. I'm not anywhere near there yet...if I ever will be. I'm having fun though. ;o)

The help is very much appreciated! I'm glad I wasn't the only one losing them. I've been playing with the transform like you suggested, valcali. It does help in understanding the flames, thanks so much!! The tuts are very helpful :). I didn't even notice the ones on the Apophysis.org site, oops. Think I'll play with these awhile and see what blooms :). Thanks again!!
