I've set up the bump a little bit higher. Simply looks georgeous!

AgentSmith ( ) posted Sun, 29 August 2004 at 8:14 AM · edited Sun, 29 August 2004 at 8:17 AM

Bump it up!

You can also take the bump down and increase specularity and reflection, and make it look sanded/laquered.

(if you make it very reflective you can try increasing the metallicity, to help the wood keep its "color") This is what I did to help make it look wet in the render above. (you may also want to place a bead beside "reflection", in the A channel, if you do that) AS

Thank ya sir! good idea Ill have to try bumpin up the metallicity thing to get it lookin like your bench there. I kept tryin in my latest pic to make the darn buildings look wet but could get em to do anything (course I hadnt tried that either) :)

Your very welcome, AS! It all goes to show that Procedural textures are a lot more flexible in simulating real world textures than is generally known, it just takes some time and practice. Nothing wrong with using Photo textures, though, for sure. :^)
