Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
Hi Jody. I assume you are using P5 (since AFAIK, P4 & previous don't allow you to move runtimes). When you say "are not displaying", do you mean you get the "shrugging man", or just a blank pic (possbly with a circle), or just text? Thumbnails in P5 are .png files. There aren't any references to them; Poser just associates the .png with whichever .pz2 (or cr2 or pp2 or whatever) has the same name. A few checks to make: 1. Use Explorer (or whatever) to ensure that the .png files have been moved together with the pose files. 2. If you have it, try looking at the library using P3DO. The .png files should show up if OK, won't if not. 3. In Poser, apply a relevant pose to a character (or whatever), set up a nice camera angle and add the posed character back into the library (probably under a different name). If the new pose shows up OK, then you have a problem with the .png files. If you are getting just a blank thumb (with or without the circle), the chances are that the .png's alpha channel has been corrupted in the move. If you still have the original library (you DID make a backup before moving, didn't you?..), then try moving (just) the .png files again. Cheers, Diolma
Hi there PNG's are present and look fine in image viewing program, the ones I am missing are primarily mat and partial poses therefore setting up a thumbnail is quite tricky (or at least timeconsuming). Yes I have a backup, but I'm trying to fix this cause it's a bit weird and I haven't seen or heard of Poser doing this before. Best wishes Jody

This is because the alpha channel of the thumb picture is inverted. You can fix this with the P3dO Rsr2Png plugin. Convert from Rsr->Png then from Png->Rsr again (there's an option that will remove the converted RSRs) and all your PNGs will show in Poser. Rsr2Png available in freestuff there and on my website. yarpYarp - author of P3DO Organizer for Poser

I moved my runtime to another location, but I suspect some references are screwed as a bunch of thumbnails in my pose folder are not displaying. Anybody know of a utility to whiz through the folders and refresh the thumbnails? Cheers Jody
