I'm sorry if all my questions seem noobish to any of you, just remember that I just got Bryce back a few days ago and I hardly know anything about it. I'm trying to learn via tutorials. The link attached is the one I am having a problem with. Near the top it says "Drag the red spot of the brush colour down to black. Drag the hardness all the way to the right for a very soft brush. Enlarge the brush to the size you want for the inside of your crater. See image at left." Where is this red spot of the brush? Where are the colors? I just started clicking and couldn't come up with anything. Thanks!

Ok i looked at the tut. I think the color change to "an almost flat black" is just the raising an lowering of the train your red dot should be on the right hand side of your screen like so:

perlgoodies, ok i am new to bryce as well but i think i can help here, no screen shot so i can't point at the items for you to see where they are. I'll be instructing you with bryce 5 so i hope you have that on :) Ok get your terrain, click on the E on the menu that pops up on the right of it. When the terrain editor opens you'll see on the left hand side a rectangle with three circles, an upside down triangle and a square on it. Ok, first part: on the upside down triangle, you'll see the red dot they mention in that tut. Secondly: the hardness is the second circle from the top. hold your cuser on it then while holding your left mouse button down move your mouse to the right Third: the brush size is done by holding your curser on the top circle and moving your mouse left or right, depending on the size brush you want to use. Hope these hel you, like i said i'm new so i might have taken the long way to explain these.

In the terrain editor . . .Hold down the spacebar while the pointer is over the gray image. . . .The pointer will turn into an eyedropper. . . .as you move the eyedropper around the image the red dot will auto match the gray intensity being sampled. . .let go when you have the gray height that you want. Give it a try!
