looks kinda menacing, to me...not so much cute, Zhann :P Reminds me of some of the older model Robots in I, Robot. Maybe they stole the design from you. Looks pretty good, man. If i had a use for a robot right now i'd be all over it.

LunarTick ( ) posted Mon, 27 September 2004 at 11:46 PM

vasquez, great LilBot :) love the rustic look about it. I have only one problem with it and it may not be the fault of the model but something i'm not doing or doing in Bryce. I'm new to this so please forgive my stupidness with your model. When i load it to Bryce it is huge, i mean i see from the waist up to the shoulders then thats it. From the waist down it is under the ground plane, the neck and head are somewhere in the clouds. When i shrink it down to fit my screen it all falls apart. So not knowing what to do i thought i would call on the bot maker for help with this problem i have :)

Vasquez here is a quick render showing you what i see.

vasquez ( ) posted Tue, 28 September 2004 at 1:53 AM

ok lunartrick... some info about my robot... if you press "ctrl" and click over the hip, a list of primitives or groups should appear. Select "HIP", now the hip group should become red, if you click and hold over the red group you are able to move the whole robot around.... ...regarding how to move the camera try a bit with Bryce, and if the manual does not help coem here and I'll happy to help you. vasq

Zhann ( ) posted Tue, 28 September 2004 at 3:21 AM

Well, I loaded it up and the same thing happened to me, the model is huge and there is no way to reduce the 'entire' model as one piece to a smaller size without it disingerating into primtive pieces. The hip thing doesn't work to reduce the overall 'size' of the model, it just allows you to move it around the work space as one pc...I know it's easier to model some things 'large' but if you can't change the size to fit the scene it's an exercise in frustration, and you can't use the model no matter how expertly made it is.... Any help would be appreciated, I had a scene in mind to use this guy in, but only if I can make him 'smaller'...

ok Zhann I'll work on it... ehy... it's my fist freebie.... please be gentle :).

Zhann ( ) posted Tue, 28 September 2004 at 3:29 AM

Hey no problem, all things need tweaking once in awhile, that's life...:) I didn't mean to sound ungrateful, I love the robot and the fact it is free, you did an excellent job for your first freebie....:)

ty vasquez, with some fine adjustments i was able to get your bot to a size that was great. The cube in the image along side the bot is the normale sized cube that is in bryce.

vasquez ( ) posted Tue, 28 September 2004 at 9:52 AM

Lunar! excellent!!! ehmm... Zahnn, I've tried it... it works here... if you scale the HIP everything scales with it... dunno.. maybe some Bryce bug

LunarTick ( ) posted Tue, 28 September 2004 at 10:35 AM

Zahnn, if you hold the crtl key down right click on the hip/waist area of the bot make sure you click on Lilbot in the list on the menu that comes up, that way you are able to resize the bot and move it around. Once i did that i had no problems resizing it or moving it.

Zhann ( ) posted Tue, 28 September 2004 at 5:25 PM

Ok, that's better, shrunk down to size....Thanks for the info, working like a charm now...:)
