Rear sighting apparatus missing or too far forward to effectively use. Angle of gunner's head suggests the rear sight is too low and provides an awkward firing position that would likely cause severe neck injury from recoil when weapon is fired. I suggest placing a rear sight further to the rear (preferably an open aperture), the front sight further forward, and a cheeck piece on or part of the stock. Judging from the location of the magazine, I would expect an ejection port on the side of the weapon on the right side of the weapon in close proximity to the magazine. Given a 25mm size weapon, I presume that the size of the stock includes a recoil mechanism as well as the chamber, bolt and trigger mechanism. I also presume that the round is a relatively low velocity projectile like the 40mm grenade instead of a high velocity projectile such as is fired by aircraft. Presumptions, however, are a little more scientific than assumptions but equally as dangerous. And don't worry about 3DS. It imports easily into Poser.

thx for your reply :) firstly this weapon uses rpg amunition,with an electric primer,it wouldnt need a bolt mechanism :p 2nd it would not need a ejection port,its a caseless ammo type 3rd this weapon have no "rear" sight,you aim with the sight over the barrel,on the sight is a mechanism to adjust the distance to the target. the pose of the figure is only to show the scale of the weapon true,the weapon is a low velocity rocket propelled grenade,the grenade would trowed out with a small primer load,and the rocket ignites aprox 2 or 3 meters after leaving the barrel sure,not a very accurate weapon,u have only to hit targets,way bigger then a chevy van and...its not my design:p its just from a comic :)ive t yeah i know about the 3ds import from poser,but i want to add a texture,for more detail,i need the obj exporter for 3dsmax 3.1
Thx for info on ammo. It explains a lot. The basic design from the comic strip could stand a little more practicality. In order to achieve any accuracy with open sights, it is necessary to have both front and rear sights as far apart as practical. You have to get an accurate alignment from rear to front to target. A short sight base is characteristic of pistols and, therefore for short range. The type ammo you have suggests that this weapon can be used at a fairly decent range, like a couple hundred yards. In this case, an accurate sighting mechanism is needed. Suggest either placing a front sight on the end of the barrel, and a rear sight such as found on M16 or Steyer (sp?). Or an Optical sight. Or a electronic video sight like we have on videocameras. Given the latter and with low recoil, the gunner need not place his/her head in contact with the weapon. Despite my commentary on the weapon, it looks just fine.

I like it! Looks great! Throw on some worn textures and it's good to go! Um, I'm nitpicking here, but I think even a caseless rifle needs a way to eject a faulty round, wouldn't it? I suppose a caseless round is less likely to fail so perhaps it isn't necessary... I guess I should look up the Heckler and & Koch G11 caseless prototype rifle and see if it has an ejection port for faulty rounds. As for the Guges, it looks good. You beat me to the punch! I was going to work on a Landmate myself! :-) Nuke
